Khan vs. Kotelnik is The Right Fight - Says Warren

Kotelnik holds the WBA title and is a step up from Murray, Thaxton, and the like. While I would have liked to have seen Khan fight Prescott, Valero, or Diaz, the fact is, Khan just cannot take a punch. Therefore I am happy he is taking on lesser fighters. I mean, whats the point of fighting the top guys if he is going to get KO'd in the first round like everybody predicts? He might as well fight at his own level.

If Khan was fighting Marquez or Prescott everybody would say - Omg Marquez KO1...which implies they have very little belief in Khans ability, and don't think he is a worthy opponent. Which then suggests he should ply his trade at a lower level. Now Khan is fighting a lesser opponent they are all saying - Omg Khan is ducking Prescott, Marquez, and Valero.

It's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

But if he gets to fight the top guys everybody would start asking how he got the chance to fight the top guys blah blah blah..."What has he done but get KO in 52 seconds" blah blah blah.

The hate the boy is getting especially in the UK makes me want to root for him.

A lot of people dont rate Khan so i dont think calling him a hypejob at 22 is right, Someone like hatton qualifies more as a hypejob than anyone esle in the UK.

i think ricky takes way too much ****, but all fighters do i guess to some degree....has anybody thought what would happen to kahn if he lost to kotelnik? go bac kto lightweight?....and that excuse that warren used saying jmm has bigger fights then just in the lw division, i think is a cop out...you got jmm whos about to vacate those belts and go to 140 and will probably get hatton-pac next if floyd, jr. doesnt come out of retirement first....i think kahn's handlers saw the jww division weak compared to some of the lw's

and u haven't seen/read all the ****s hurled at manny, in most threads and boards. That’s life, that’s how it goes when somebody is popular or starting to get popular. “The mango tree that bears much fruit gets stoned many times over.”

Mind u mate, all threads with manny as the topic receive the most posts. discussionsa and arguments are very much spirited, with enthusiasm! Other boxer news/threads don’t even get 1 post/comment/response.

At 22 if Khan could somehow beat Kotelnik he would have done better than both calzaghe and hatton when they were at that age.

i am actually rooting for him against kotelnik, nothing wrong with that. many believe that kotelnik is the weakest of the 'champs' in jww. warren is ******** a little here but the reward is great once amir wins. he will have a belt to brag and can command bigger pays, if not better fyts. "bragging rights" always help when negotiating for an opponent, business-wise or otherwise. hehe

Good opportunity at 140 for him even though i reckon he gets beat by the more experienced kotelnik, maybe he was having problems making the 135 limit, he look like a big lightweight and he isnt ready for the big boys at 135...

Even if he beats Kotelnik this is not a strategic move. After that, what next? He's not ready for the big boys yet, he needs 2-3 tough learning fights under Roach, against competition that is just short of world class, before he'll be ready for the elite. This is a crass short-termist move that is terrible for his long term prospects, IMO. If he gets a tough first defence, it could destroy him.

Roach says he wasn't having any problems making Lightweight.

And LOL @ Warren pretending that he tried to make an immediate fight with Marquez, when both Khan and Roach have recently said they know he's not ready for that level yet.
