Has The Media Overblown The Antonio Margarito Scandal?

By Brent Matteo Alderson - Recently one of the sport’s beat writers commented that members of the media were overly critical of Antonio Margarito because they hadn’t bought into his prowess as a fighter and used the incident with the wraps to validate their original opinion of him in order appease their own egos. This writer also wrote that certain journalists were quick to disparage Margarito in an attempt to devalue the writers that held the Mexican slugger in high regard. Talk about some baloney, hasn’t everyone heard of Dempsey-Willard? [details]

Did we had prove for all the Margarito things? No we hadnt have them.

Did we were right about everything? Hell yes.

And we didnt had to have some hardcore evidence to know it. We used some common sense, wich apparently you lack.

I think the punishment was justified at the same time I do think some people in this forum have come down on Marg way to hard.

Not saying what he did was ok, just that cheating in boxing is nothing new and fighters have done things just as bad if not worse.

He's not the first to load his gloves and won't be the last. Mike Tyson biting Holyfields ear off was 10X worse. He should have been banned for life.

Managers and promoters caught cheating in betting schemes, fighters throwing fights etc.

Marg is an idiot because I don't think he needed to load his gloves to win. Just my opinion.

If I'm such a Margarito nuthugger.....why would I be ok with a lifetime ban for trying to cheat in the Mosley fight? Is that something a nuthugger would say?
