Dont you guys see that this guys chin and defense has not really been tested if he can get away with sticking his chin out and when doing combos leaving himself completely open. Some Boxing Technician (JMM) would pick apart all those flaws and make him look like PreschoolerComment

Yes in his prime but JMM is getting old and old quick. Time is running out for him, why risk with a hard puncher like Valero? There's nothing for Marquez to prove in this fight.Dont you guys see that this guys chin and defense has not really been tested if he can get away with sticking his chin out and when doing combos leaving himself completely open. We all know JMM is 2X the fighter Valero is but what does he gain by beating him at this point in his career. If JMM has one last good fight left in him, then he needs to make that the Pacquiao fight.Comment

Khan isn't one of the top boys and is certainly not ready for Valero yet.JMM has nothing to prove in the LW division because he did what he needs to do to prove he is the king in that division. But he needs to fight at least the likes of Bradley or Holt before facing the winner of Pac-Hatton in the JWW div. Since LW will soon dried up from top boys, Valero needs too to go with the tide by hunting top boys in the JWW by let's say first facing Khan.
Khan should fight someone like David Diaz next, and Valero should fight Juan Diaz or Funeka or Casamayor.Comment

If he's as good as you keep saying, what's wrong with him fighting an elite Lightweight first before he gets a shot at the lineal title? If he's as good as you say he is, he'll knock them out and that would make the JMM fight a far bigger event. It's not as if there are no elite Lightweights for him to fight - it's one of the most talented divisions in the sport.
No, because Valero hasn't fought a single elite fighter yet (at any weight), despite being in one of the most competitive divisions in the sport. Why don't you want him to fight an elite Lightweight first? Do you he think he'd lose? What's wrong with him fighting someone like Funeka or Juan Diaz in June and then JMM in September?
Why so many excuses for Valero not to risk fighting an elite contender?Comment
