Can a boxer take it to a Navy Seal in a street fight?

Thats about as valid as saying a street fighter could beat a Mixed martial Artist.
Here is how a typical street fighter does against a trained MMA fighter.

But most boxers were street fighters before they became boxers..in my place, boxers are well respected and boxers dont just fight in the streets just to prove that they're bad ass..their licenses would be revoked if they do that..however, before they became boxer they are street fighters that dont have much disciplineComment

The argument is if a Boxer can take on a Navy Seal in an actual street fight. Bring the Boxer's skills against the Seal's skills. Anything goes (kicks, elbows, take dowsn, etc). But most boxers were street fighters before they became boxers..in my place, boxers are well respected and boxers dont just fight in the streets just to prove that they're bad ass..their licenses would be revoked if they do that..however, before they became boxer they are street fighters that dont have much discipline
As far as Boxers being street fighters prior to becoming prize fighters, there aren't as many as people would want you to believe. The majority of the top fighters today have been fighting organized Boxing since their teen years. It's really tough to take someone out of their element (in this case a Boxer) and throw him in with someone who has an array of attacks a trained Boxer won't be prepared for.
Basically, Most Boxing gyms train guys how to fight against other Boxers. Martial Arts schools or Military combat training deals with real life situations on not only how to defend yourself but how to immobilize your opponent, even if it means taking their life.Comment

Most boxers have probably been in less street fights than the average person.

Let me start by saying I love boxing but if you guys think that Boxing can compete against any Martial Arts discipline that was designed to hurt, kill, and destroy another human being in a "real" life situation then some of you are a bit naive.
Most countries that have special forces often teach these specialized units to not only kill with their bare hands but they also teach them to disarm and subdue their attackers.
A boxers training is mainly taught to be used inside the well regulated setting of a boxing match. While Boxers would be more tha capable of defending themselves against an everyday attacker they would be hardpressed to defend themselves against individuals who have been taught to take away all of a boxers strengths and exploit all their weaknesses (Grappling, Submission techniques).
being a Marine who just got out a month ago i agree but people fail to realize that a street fight 90% of the time ends up on the floor making boxing useless. in a street fight military personal will win more times than a boxer would simply because military members are trained to use weapons of opprtunity.Comment
