This happens pretty much anytime a fighter comes along with a little bit of "pop". He knocks out some guys and the general public and casual fans instantly fall in love with him and label him a world beater.
Not that long ago I remember comparisons of Kermit Cintron to Tommy Hearns........
The bottom line is Valero is a pretty good fighter, but that's about it from all I've seen of him.
He was very sloppy last night against Pitalua, particularly when he was going in after the first knockdown.
I didn't see the "calm, calculated finisher" that the commentators told me he was.
I saw a guy who was headhunting, missing half his shots, and having the other half of his shots either partially blocked, or barely grazing Pitalua while he tried his best bob and weave.

you're focusing way to much on his flaws because of all this so called "hype". he isn't a boxer and he doesn't have the best technique, but he is still a very dangerous fighter for anyone including JMM and Pacman. He has the goods to upset any fighter.
