Hopkins leads with his head too. While he grapples he works his head in.

I really dont see how he has many fans. The guy has to pull every trick in the book, while fighting smaller men.

I think Hopkins can certainly outbox Adamek, I just think he struggles with fast, slick boxers who throw combos like Roy, Zaghe and Taylor.

Taylor clinched so bad against Lacy he made the Hatton vs Urango fight look good.

adamek should have taken the offer and I bet the talks are still in process. Hopkins sent ONE offer and adamek says, "no." Why wouldn't adamek have a counter offer?

Adamek = larger version of pavlik.

Except not really. Hopkins has a lot better legs then Roy does and has way better defense then he does. It was believed to beat Calzaghe by dirty tactics because Calzaghe struggled with Bika's tactics and got frustrated.
Hopkins didn't do anything taylor didn't do... pavlik just refused to throw that night.
Except a lot more movement, a bigger work rate, and way better defense. Pavlik didn't refuse to throw ****. He just couldn't find him because he was never there.

            Hopkins is 44..
he does not really hold in my opinion, but ties up his opponents to slow the pace down.
            Hatton just wrestles his opponents.

            Big difference

Looks like someone is still hurt about the pavlik fight.

Honestly, did you see hopkins in his prime or not? He fought nothing like he does now, he fights at a much slower pace because of his age. You have to remember he's been 40+ years old since taylor. Watch him before that he was an offensive machine in his early days, and became a much more rounded and defensive fighter as his career progressed.

he has fans because he's a legend, he's accomplished more than 99.9% of active fighters and will go down as an ATG

If the footwork was enough he wouldn't have held. Joe's great at closing range on runners. So Hopkins tried to siplay his running abilities and since he couldn't run he held and claimed low blows.

Who did Hopkins fight in his prime? Arturo Mercado, Glen Johnson and Roy Jones?
