I can pick apart Cotto's resume if u want...Comment

he hasn't done anything since 135.Pac was also knocked out twice and lost to a past prime Morales. His wins over JMM are also debatable...so be careful. I still think he is a great fighter.
But, I can somewhat agree with Floyd being overrated by some. His legacy for me lacks when he moved up to 147. He did win the lineal title there but Baldomir wasn't the best at 147.
that's a long , long time ago.Comment

Mayweather wont lose to JMM or Cotto. He would have problems with Mosley but because Mosley's age, I think he can do it. The more I watch P. Will, the more I see that Mayweather wont beat him. Pacquiao can beat him, he is the only one of that list that I can sit back and see Mayweather definately losing to. If the cards fall properly of course.Comment

Who knows now, but at his best or even the version that we last saw, I would favor Floyd over Pac, JMM, Cotto, the version of Mosley that would have met Floyd had Shane accepted the fight {since a prime Mosley is a different story}, and Williams he could lose to. Actually, Roger Mayweather pointed to Williams as the toughest fight and the guy that would trouble Floyd the most.Mayweather wont lose to JMM or Cotto. He would have problems with Mosley but because Mosley's age, I think he can do it. The more I watch P. Will, the more I see that Mayweather wont beat him. Consideriring guys like Hatton, Calzaghe, and Hopkins got credit for dominating there division. Floyd has dominated at least 3 divisions. So much that he has to go out of his weight class and fight guys bigger than him for competition. He deserves credit as a great fighter and from 125-135 he is probably the best ever. You gave Gatti a pass and downplayed his loss to Floyd saying he was out of his weight class. Now respect that Floyd has been fighting out of his weight class ever since he came to 140. 85% of his career is at 135 and below. He went up in weight for money and for fame, not cause it his weight. Recognize that in that respect, he is great. Not many fighters can dominate multiple divisions. Only great fighters can. (Not saying he dominated 147).Comment

Not his fault at 140. He challenged Hatton twice there while he was Champion and Hatton declined so Floyd moved up. He did later get him and knock him out. Even with Cotto there has been discussion of Arum not willing to put his boy in there with Floyd. Arum was just willing to put Margarito in there.
The ducking happened at 147+ but it was also in line with Floyd wanting to cash out against Oscar.
His best weight was still from 130-140. I don't see anyone in the time he was still active, had he fought in those divisions, to be favored over him. His objective was simple: Get O$car and go home. Shane was the bonus but he didn't accept at the time.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 04-02-2009, 12:24 AM.Comment
