Jeff Lacy wasn't even considered a pound for pounder. I think you're wrong.

Both Calzaghe and Tszyu were great fighters.

I can't choose one over the other!

The Sad part is I don't think Tszyu lived up to his potential or fulfilled his potential while Joe lived up to whatever he had.

I still say Tszyu would have been better off (as far as boxing is concerned) moving to the States instead of Australia.

Tszyu had more talent than Calzaghe but for legacy...I'll have to think about it some more.

Calzaghe's best wins were probably Kessler and Lacy while Tszyu blasted his way to a title quickly and beat some good opponents. His best win was probably fighting an undefeated Zab Judah (while many started to think Tszyu was past his best, which included Judah).

Both refused to move up in weight when I thought they should have.
Joe didn't want a Prime Roy Jones Jr at 175 and Tszyu didn't move up to 147 when the divisoin was loaded with Oscar, Shane, Forrest, and Tito.

For who was the better fighter? KOSTYA TSZYU

There was more than a few on this board (which included me) that couldn't believe the hype around Lacy. Once they started to compare him to a young Tyson, forget it; you knew things went over-board.

That said, Calzaghe gets a ton of credit for taking him to school and exposing him.

He was a very good fighter. Interestingly many called him a bum leading up to the Hatton v Mayweather fight because Hatton boxed his head off.

If we are talking about Phillips:

Phillips was 40 or very close to it, way past his prime and lived a hard-life by the time he met Hatton.

5 year gap difference between when Phillips fought Tszyu and when he fought Hatton. Plus, the circumstances and where each were at in their life always tells a more detailed story.

Sorry mate, agree with most of your post but cannot agree here.
Calzaghe did make poor choices and this has affected how the boxing world looks upon him but there is no doubt around his ability.
His skill, speed and movement were superb and he was IMO a far better boxer than Tszyu. Agreed later on in his career he delivered arm punches and even slaps but that was as much down to his hand damage as anything else.

Tszyu had the more natural power.

I disagree but that is OK.

Not only do I think Tszyu was the better fighter with more natural gifts, but given what I saw from him with some of his amateur fights and early pro fights, his potential was never reached in my opinion. I'm not saying he could have gotten better but that he started to slip as a fighter in some ways.
                    Joe's potential was met.
But I'll base it on what "was" and I still say it was Tszyu. An amateur Kostya Tszyu had more talent than Calzaghe.

Tszyu was also the more feared fighter in his time and gained respect even as an amateur from some of the top names in the sport.

Don't start with this. It's too obvious and easy. Calzaghe fans lack basic logic skills.

I've done this logic 101 essay a few times on here and they have repeatedly missed it or been unable to comprehend it.

Just because a bunch of people say someone is really good (lacy) and someone is bad (Joe) and he (Lacy) ends up getting his ass kicked by that other fighter (Joe) who is in actuality good (Joe) and the first guy is actually very bad (Lacy):

Well just because a bunch of people say something, even loudly doesn't mean the truth changes. Truth is:Lacy was always **** and pointing out that a bunch of people thought he was GOOD doesn't change the fact that he was ****. **** off.
