Hatton doesn't need to downplay it. Any1 in the top 5 at 147 would have beaten Oscar that night(Cotto,Clottey,P.Will,Margarito, Mosley).

Hatton can downplay it al he wants. Fact is, he turned down a fight with Oscar. "You're too big for me, Oscar! I need two more fights!"

This is how I see it. If Luis Collazo (147), Juan Urango, Jose Luis Castillo, Kosta Tyzu couldn't KO Hatton & it took Floyd 10 rounds of precision punching at 147 to KO Ricky Hatton, what makes people think that Manny Pacquiao will be the one to totally beat Ricky down in his own division when NO one else could? Hatton has fought bigger & stronger guys than Manny.
I see the fight going down like this, Manny's going to be using his speed & legs to box around Hatton but Ricky's going to be cutting the ring off & working Pac with the jab. Pac has decent power but don't see him being able to beat up on Ricky for 10 or 8 rounds without a response like he did against the bigger Diaz/De La Hoya. Manny is going to have to brawl in this one & I give the edge to Hatton, he will be too strong for Pacquiao & Hatton speed is underrated. Come fight night Pac won't have too much of an advantage over Ricky.

He'll get his credit from me. Hatton's arguably the 2nd best at 140 and top 3 unarguably. Pac's already P4P #1.

David Diaz was bigger and stronger than Manny and he kept on plugging in all night. There was never a quit in him, but his was whiffing all night. Ricky may be the bigger, stronger, and the harder puncher, but all of these attributes that you say Hatton has over Pacman will go for naught if he can't find an elusive target like Manny.

Manny will engage with Ricky from time to time, just like what he did against Oscar, but believe you me, he will have the upperhand after the4 skirmishes.

I still say that this is close to a pick em fight, with Manny having a slight advantage to take this one.

... but anything can happen come May 2nd, that's why they fight the fights...

**** that. Bad ranking my me. Hatton is the man at 140. Pacquiao wins then he'd be that. Bradley is second.
