    oh boy......proof...speculation,deductive reasoning, common sense?

Simply. Margarito’s determination forced Cotto to quit in a cowardly manner.

No proof he cheated but it is very hard to believe, why would he use them against Mosley and not Cotto? I think it would be hard for anyone to give credit for that win to be honest.

As for Toney not knowing anything about it, if this is true... he should take a lie detector test to clear his name.

Well, one of the ways I view Cotto vs. Margarito now, is that it's a constant reminder of how the illegal handwraps scandal has left boxing fans with the short-end of the stick. I can see that not all fans feel this way, but speaking only for myself, I feel like a classic was taken away. I really don't feel like watching the fight again knowing that this is probably (highly likely, almost certain) an unfair confrontation in the ring. They probably will never be able to prove that Margarito cheated in any of his fights but then again they won't be able to prove that he didn't. So, in that way, this is a "lost" classic for me.

If a rematch ever did happen, and Cotto won, it would satisfy a whole bunch of boxing fans. But I think you'd still have hardcore (and even unbiased) fans arguing that Mosley possibly ruined Margarito with that demolition he gave him. (Cotto didn't exactly treat Margarito nice either the first half of their fight. He did damage.) Likewise, if Cotto lost the rematch, some people would argue that the plaster ruined Cotto. But that's boxing for you. Arguments of this nature will always happen.

Without a Margarito confession (or a convincing public statement to the contrary), boxing fans are gonna carry some sort of frustration with this for a while. It's just a nagging feeling. I think about Lujan's ear (one of the nastiest injuries you'll ever see in boxing) and when I saw it happen, I never once thought plaster. But now, it's like, "Holy ****, it must have been plaster." But then I think of Vitali's eye and it's like regular non-plaster punches can do crazy damage too. I think of the swelling on Cotto's face and it's like, "It makes perfect sense now he got hit with plaster." His face never swelled like that before. But then after a while it's like, but he never was pressured and hit like that before, so that damage could have been because it was an experience that he had avoided in the past. Then I think, "If Margarito cheated for Mosley, of course he cheated against Cotto in the bigger fight." But then a part of me will eventually say, "Would Margarito risk getting caught cheating on the biggest night of his life? To have his dream end before even stepping into the ring?" So then why did he cheat for Mosley? Maybe Cotto damaged him enough that he needed "help" against a fast and powerful Mosley. Or maybe he tried to cheat because he's been cheating for years. But if he's been cheating for years, how come he didn't get caught 5 years ago? 10 years ago? It just goes on and on. It's not easy to let go. Especially when unexpected stuff like Freddie Roach supporting the guy happens.

Although I suspect he cheated in the Cotto fight, I wish I had some ****ing confirmation like the lab results that showed elements of paster of Paris. Is Capetillo some sort of evil Gargamel who betrayed Tony? That doesn't seem likely. He was like a father to Margarito. So maybe he did it because he knew Tony doesn't have it anymore and didn't want to see him slaughtered. Or, maybe, they finally just got caught.

**** man, I don't want to go through this **** anymore. Margarito is a cheater. Capetillo too. A 1-year ban is not enough. I'm gonna try and stay away from Marg threads from now on unless some major revelations take place.

Body shots + plaster = broken ribs.

                      Must've been hard to take.

Cotto is a beast to take a beating like that.
