How do you view Cotto's LOSS to Margarito.. now..

No i believe he used them against Cotto but it cant be proved, And cotto isnt the only one in this...There is clottey,williams,cintron and possibly g.johnson who can all claimed to be a victim of Margarito's plaster...My point is why is it that its only cotto's name that gets brought up???

I think the reason Cotto's name is brought up 1st is because of how much the Margarito vs Cotto fight meant to both fighters, the WW division, and Boxing in general. You can't find any fight Marg had prior to Cotto that was as big or meant as much.

Margarito probably cheated but no one knows for sure.. I think cotto used the wrong gameplan anyways so he probably would of lost regardless.. but who knows.. if margarito cheated the fight should be a no contest or something

Wrong Buddy. You get hit with Plaster, you get weaker, meaning you dont punch as hard as you should and by that your opponent can take your shots better, because you are not punching as hard as you do.

SO yes getting hit with Loded gloves afects your punching power too!!!!!!!!!

Thanks and i agree, The significant of the fight was huge...I would alway credit Cotto for taking the fight when he could do what others did when it came to Margarito.

He gave Margarito is opportunity and was trying to prove that he his a top notch fighter and its sad that Margarito might have thank him for that opportunty by using plaster of paris against him....sad

Thats the way i see it, Even though i have NO doubt in my mind that Margarito would have used the loaded gloves against Cotto, The fact that we cant prove it makes the fight a fair and square fight in my opinion.

The Commissions have proven to not be the most accurate of examiners when it comes to hand wraps basing it off the CSAC signing off on Margarito's wraps the 1st time until Nazeem did a 2nd check.

Evangalista maybe should've checked his wraps, but the assumption would be that Margarito wouldn't need to cheat, right? And being that the commission SHOULD be on top of their game and make sure everything is on the up and up, the last thing a trainer or fighter should be concerned with is if their opponent is cheating. It's called Boxing, not a game of "See if I'm wearing Plaster in my gloves or not."

i have mixed feelings about this. i want cotto to kick cheato's ass BUT he doesn't deserve another payday.

What if Margarito killed or damaged someone using plaster? It is worth the risk to seriously injure another person?

I don't know if those who still defend margarito understand the magnitude of his actions. not only block gauze but plaster too!!! Do we need another Collins-Resto in boxing?

I think every mexican fighter feel ashame of what margarito did. Maragarito took all the pride and honor of being mexican and throw it away cheating. I feel bad when someone said that Resto is/was boricua.
