Margarito deserves the punishment that he gets, and a lifetime ban wouldn't be out of the question due to the severity of his actions. Steriods on the part of Mosely are also a disgrace, but as other sports have shown (primarily baseball), they seem to be more tolerated by the general public.

Like Danc1984 said, boxing shouldn't send this kind of message by allowing Margarito back in the ring. Mosely should've been punished as well (it's never too late in my opinion), but it is what it is.

Sports in general need to come down hard on cheating of any kind. Steriod use should be punished automatically with a one-year ban for a first offense, lifetime ban for a second. A more severe offense like loading gloves in boxing, should be much-more severely punished. Five-year ban or a lifetime ban if you want to take it as a case-by-case. Something like this is what all sports need.

They should have suspended and fined Mosley after the second DLH fight but they didn't. It's been 4 years since that fight now so I don't think they should suspend him now but they should fine him and change the result of that fight to a NC.

Steroids don't make you ripped or fast.

It's like the difference between attempted murder and taking a banned stimulant.

They should ban him for life so no one will cheat again. He's lucky he didn't end up in prison.

He still could, possibly - conspiracy to commit aggravated assault is a crime.

This I can strongly agree with you on.
As far as steroids not making you "fast," certain steroids give you a huge boost in endurance, allowing you to fight at a pace you normally couldnt. Dont get me wrong, it isnt the same thing as loaded wraps, but its a worse crime in boxing than in baseball.

Taking a banned stimulant to get an edge in a competitive sport is one thing.

Taking a banned stimulant to whoop someones ass(boxing) is another.

theres no comparison between steroids and plastered wraps on any level. As a college football player and boxer i've seen the juice and the results, taking steroids is not much different then taking a something like a complete BSN cycle and busting @$$. Results are extremely similar and you don't get negative side effects, weak ligaments and tendons, dehydration...the list goes on, as you would with the juice. Steroids are huge in sports such as baseball, football, more muscular strength dependent sports. THEY ARE NOT BOXING FRIENDLY, Vargas may have learned that. I've seen others who have. Regardless come fight night, your not going into the ring with bricks in your hands. It's a crime and one that should be dealt with in federal court. And Margo should never fight again. Mosley should be suspended for his but a slap on the wrist compared to what Margo should get.

                      Good article.

In my opinion he should be banned for life, and whoever's job it was to check the wraps of the boxers that night should be fired, because his incompetence has put lives at risk.
