Sorry, but Toney would have KO'd Joe imo.
IF a 43 year old Hopkins and a 40 year old Roy Jones, who's career went down the drain 4 years before could both floor Joe in the first round, imagine what they would do in their Primes.

Toney has all those losses and gift decisions.

And Joe Calzaghe never needed steroids to enhance his performances!

It's better to win but the point was that if you continue to fight "great" fighters or even good competition, someone will eventually have your number.
And, I would also add the farther you are from your peak you have a greater chance of losing.

No but we can't discredit Toney's entire career for what he may have done out of desperation after surgery. It's still wrong but I'm not going to put an "X" over his entire career just like I wouldn't put it over Vitali's.

Calzaghe had some good wins: Kessler and Lacey are my favorites because they were both young and undefeated.

But many will wonder how a prime Roy Jones Jr. vs. Prime Calzaghe would have played out. The same can be said with Roy and some of the possible opponents he probably could have fought.
The same can be said with many fighters actually.

Ok. Now I know that Ironfist is toying with us. Calzaghe is the one that never left Wales up until the end of his career. If you want to make a name for yourself, you fight in America. James was fighting Montell Griffin and Mike McCallum when Joe was fighting and struggling with Robin Reid

I hate how JT gets hate for fighting tough fights but Joe gets love for fighting clubfighters and remaining undefeated.

The objective is to win like Calzaghe always did, rather than to lose, like Toney has so many times!

Even Sam Peter clearly outboxed Toney in the second fight.

If that is the case, Calzaghe is better p4p then the Klithcko's.

Because they've lost... To pretty poor boxer too..

If Toney would of taken his career more seriously and been more disciplined he would of been an all time top ten fighter. Calz and his people know he wasnt that good thats why he never fought the best. Both fighters in their prime Toney wins hands down.

How many fights did Toney have outside his home country?

Joe Calzaghe's home country is Wales.

Joe had 23 in England, one in Denmark, one in Scotland, one in Germany, and two in the US.

He fought quite a few opponents (Veit, Reid, Jones, Hopkins) in THEIR countries.

When all the competition is in the States, why would you fight somewhere else?
