clottey cant pull **** and williams was a much bigger draw than gomez, jennings and clottey, three fights that cotto took when he could have fought williams, who back then had a top 3 welterweight ranking, a wbo belt and a win over a fighter who cotto quit against.
You people seriously hear what you want to hear.

Paul Williams is fighting Winky Wright right now at MW.

The Mosley fight isn't in the cards right now.

So what is a more lucrative option right now, at WW. Frankly, it doesn't even ****ing matter because Cotto sells out the Garden that night regardless of who he fights.

You guys get that you're wrong about Cotto fighting Paul when Paul fought Quintana, which is what you started talking about. Now you're talking about fighting Williams now which makes no sense.

Obviously he wanted no part of him, he had just gotten his ass kicked. What are you talking about.

And while nobody Williams was calling Cotto out all that time, Cotto was busy becoming a star. Seriously, try again.

        .
so now your contradicting yourself? first you said it doesnt make business sense...now you say cotto sells out regardless of he fights to defend the clottey fight.

so make your mind already, please?

But do you get my point Cotto didn’t want the fight after Williams schooled Margarito. Goosen had to fight Carlos Q so that Cotto had public pressure on him
Lets do a little timeline here. In june of 07 Cotto fights Zab. In July 07 Williams fights Margs. In November 07 Cotto fights Mosely. In Febuary 08 Williams fight and loses to Quintana. After that he rematches Quintana and than heads out of the division. Why at that time would Cotto have fought Williams over the much more bankable Mosely, and when after that was Williams in the Division anymore? Your logic makes no sense.

After Cotto beat Mosley. Williams called him out. But when he realised Cotto wanted no part he fought Carlos Q since he was mandatory

No you keep changing what you're talking about. It didn't make business sense THEN, when you were talking about them fighting. When Williams fought Quintana.

Now it's irrelevant because Paul is fighting Winky.

Such terms as "ducking" should not be used without actual facts to back those accusations up.

Even Goossen, Williams' promoter, stated that the fight against Cotto would happen IF both men were to stay undefeated for the rest of the year. The problem is they didn't, and that is that.

                No "ducking" was going on.

Cause Cotto wanted Floyd or Oscar, and if he couldn't get them, Arum wanted to put him in with Margarito.

Unfortunate? Yes, Cotto/Williams is a fight I would love to see.

Cotto ducked Williams? Seriously, get the **** outta here.
