Considering all of their differences you will never hear floyd say anything but "my daddy is a great trainer"

Roger Mayweather being a better fighter is extremely debatable, did he achieve more? Definitely...Roger was more attacking, and had a punch, which massively hindered snr career, who also did get shot, which ended his career prematurely.

Guzman is a matter of opinion, I thought he improved considerable. Of course he already had the ability but under floyd snr he started fighting more to his strengths and less recklessly. Guzman improved defensively, he was born with good reflexes, but floyd snr improved his guard and overall defense.
first off, I got the first quote from a newspaper article.
second, Sr never 'took over'. Roger was always there training Floyd as well. and Sr's nosiness has to be considered when evaluating him as a trainer. theres a reason why so many fighters end up dropping him.
and actions speak louder than words. Jr says a lot of nice things about his dad, but the fact is that they barely talk, and Jr wants nothing to do with him as a trainer either.

and Roger was a much better fighter than Sr. surely, if Sr was so good he could have at least gotten a few decent wins under his belt. Roger was a two weight class world champ, who had a LOT of good wins over three weight classes. Sr's biggest moment was getting knocked out by Ray Leonard.
Roger had a better jab, a powerful right hand and very solid defence. clearly the overall better fighter.

Just do a search, here in NSB, on "Philly Shell".

And if I bothered to compile a list of all the twits who post in this forum, it'd be probably 500 people.

Probably. It seems like there's only like 15 or 25 regulars who post here anymore. The rest are all crappy alts.

Compare the way Oscar looked trained by Berastain to the way he looked trained by Floyd Sr.
You do realise that was SIX YEARS AGO, right? thats how fighters get old, they AGE.

and Oscar got hit more often with Sr in his corner anyway.

Senior himself has claimed he 'invented' the shoulder roll type of defence, which is just a ludicrous claim, considering its been around since way before his time.

and yes, Ive seen people refer to it as the Philly Shell.

              Thank you very much.

I couldn't be bothered to dig through the NSB cesspool to find and quote specific examples.

It would be different if they were funny though,

                but they're not.

The last funny one was coincidentally,

                El Gallo ****.

Yeah, he was a tough one, vato.

Alts used to be so hilarious around here back in the day though, it's almost sad to see the state the board is in nowadays.

It's like I told Samurai, I basically just look for posts by people on my friend's list, or other users whom I know are quality posters, and I skip everything else.

If I actually made use of my ignore list I think I could get at least 300 people on it in my first hour of thought.

The Pacquiao-Hatton fight will be a big test. I think that the fight is winnable for Hatton, but he isn't going to win it on skill. He's not a Guzman or a Floyd Jr, so Mayweather being able to recognise Hatton's strengths and weaknesses enough to take him to victory will be impressive.

At the present time, there is no way he deserves to be considered great IMO.
yea its winnable for Hatton....but for some to say he doesnt know what he is doing is a little disrespectful, the guy has been around the sport for years

if you don't see what he did for hatton, then you can't possibly see how good of a trainer he really is.
