Hopkins is NO ppv draw. The Pavlik pay per view fight sold like 125K? 150K? Chavez Jr. got close to that on a latin fury. Adamek sells out arenas fighting people like banks. Hopkins couldnt sell out AC with Pavlik on the other end.

It was a 200k PPV.

Considering it was only PPV in the states, a non-title fight, i think it's decent.

Had it been in the UK, and promoted properly and treated as a major fight, it would have easily doubled.

Kathy is right. Adamek is the draw. Even though Hopkins is great he's not a draw in the sense that he's the sole reason people may go see or order a PPV fight...it depends who he's fighting. European boxers have a larger market worldwide and growing in the US everyday...Adamek produces exciting knockouts and gets smacked in the face by Golden Boy...Kathy should pick up Cotto and lock down the Garden while she's at it. Golden Boy has to start recruiting soon they won't be able to recycle anymore.

Great news for me. I didn't care about this fight. I just don't see Adamek is a good enough name to finish off Hopkins legendary career, Cruiserweight or not. Get a bigger/better name Hopkins you deserve it.

What's a better legacy builder and career ender than beating the undisputed CW champ and winning a ring belt and title in a third weight class? 500K seems pretty low for a risky fight like this for Adamek, seeing how he is a tiny CW and won't be more than 10 lbs heavier than Hopkins come fight night.

A potential July 11 super fight between Bernard Hopkins and IBF cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek is dead in the water. It appears both sides were so far apart on money that Adamek's promoter, Kathy Duva of Main Events, sees no reason to continue negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions. I'm glad. The boxing world doesn't need another Hopkins fight. It needs Hopkins to go away for good.

PPV is where the money is made.

Adamek is not a PPV draw..neither is Hopkins.
