  • Hopkins vs. Adamek is Dead Over Low-Ball Offer

A potential July 11 super fight between Bernard Hopkins and IBF cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek is dead in the water. It appears both sides were so far apart on money that Adamek's promoter, Kathy Duva of Main Events, sees no reason to continue negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions. From what Duva told boxing writer Dan Rafael, Golden Boy made Adamek a low-ball offer of a $500,000 flat fee. [details]

Kathy Duva says the money is not enough, and Tomasz Adamek has had other more lucrative offers.

That would probably be one of the most boring fights on the planet since both are more defensive style fighters now adays. And B-hop would probably win because roy probably would be the one the engage and get countered now.

I wonder who Adamek will fight?

I'd like to see a unification with G. Jones, or a fight with Ramirez or Afolabi next.

Then perhaps a rematch with Cunningham in the fall.

Great news for me. I didn't care about this fight. I just don't see Adamek is a good enough name to finish off Hopkins legendary career, Cruiserweight or not. Get a bigger/better name Hopkins you deserve it.

Hopkins should fight Chad Dawson (at 175) or Mikkel Kessler (at 170) or retire.
