Why does Floyd get the blame for the Cotto fight never happening?

After the Mosley fight, yes that would have built Floyd's legacy. It's absurd to think otherwise.
Floyd would have beaten the recognized #1 contender, an undefeated fighter in his prime who was held in VERY high regard by the boxing world coming off of a great win over a HOF. Yes, that would have cemented Floyd's legacy very well. People always say he has unfinished business at WW....if he would have fought Cotto people wouldn't say that.Comment

But the thing is, why did he have to? Floyd aint ******, he knows what the best fight would have been. Floyd needs Cotto to call him names and ****? Hell no. Floyd doesn't get rattled like that. He has everything planned, he knew he would never fight Cotto, and that's fine.
I just hate this Cotto didn't actively pursue. He said he wanted to fight him, he made that clear several times. But because he didn't go further than that it's like "oh clearly he didn't want it because he didn't call Floyd a *****". ****'s ridiculous.
Cotto wanted to fight. Floyd wasn't hot on it. Floyd didn't duck him, he just didn't feel that it made financial sense at the time, and Cotto is too proud to go chasing him around like JMM is Pac so he said **** it. End of story.Comment

Several people beat Shane already.....he was 37.....and he looked like **** at 147 since losing to Forrest.
But anyway.
Kellerman asked Cotto about fighting Floyd right after the fight and he didn't seem interested at all.Comment
