You're showing off your ignorance again. The Ring's ratings are not compiled by The Ring. They are compiled by a large panel of independent boxing experts who do not work for The Ring, which is why they are by far the most respected ratings in boxing. The current panel is listed here..

    That's impossible if you're slow.

They're not as fast as Pacquiao's or Khan's but they're not slow either.

Again that's an ignorant comment. Tszyu was rated #3 P4P when he fought Hatton, and almost no one expected Hatton to win. Urango is a very good boxer, though obviously not in Pac's class. Castillo was rated #9 pound for pound at the time that he fought Hatton. Malignaggi is feather fisted but is a highly skilled boxer and a lot of people thought he'd out-box Hatton. No one expected him to lose every round.

Mayweather had a totally different style from Pac so the fact that Mayweather stopped him is irrelevant. Pac might stop him but the Mayweather fight is not evidence for that. And no one really knows how much power Pac will carry up to 140lb - he hasn't really been tested above 130.

Anyone hit by the right shots can be stopped, but to claim as you did in another post that someone who has stood up to the punches of Kostya Tszyu has a weak chin is silly.

And lol @ you thinking that running 6 miles, 3 times a week, makes you a boxing expert!

amir kahn is overrated...end of story....his weakness has been exposed that he has a glass jaw....simple as that.....hatton was trying to be polite as much as he could, even though amir kahn is nothing but a "little leaguer"

Don't try and categorize people, it's wrong. You have no clue about me, you have no clue about what I know. I remember reading about Hatton in the RING magazine many, many years ago. I thought he was a decent fighter, but that's as far as it goes. I watched him every time I could, not as a big fan, but as a boxing fan who will watch any fight, pretty much.

As for Khan, I have nothing against him. He has talent, but his chin is **** and he will be sparked out cold against any top lightweight, never mind Hatton at 140.
dude i didnt say you was racist..and i applied what i said to you as if YOU was from the uk as its a fact that most people from the uk idolise either ricky hatton or amir khan as they are major players for them. secondly i dont know how much you know about training but amir khan clearly has a dodgy chin because he struggles to make light weight as he is a natural light welter but he pushes himself to make a weight that isnt in his comfort zone and from pure athleticism he does it but when it comes to fight night hes un predictable when he takes a shot.. i believe khans chin will improve considerably when he move up to 140 which is what he is planning to do in his next 3 fights.

I think Freddie Roach knows a little bit more about boxing than you do, and he disagrees.

Most people I know don't idolise either. In my book the opinion of anyone who idolises anyone isn't worth listening to.

Hatton has a lot of fans worldwide, not just in the UK. He is particularly popular among Latinos because they think he fights a bit like a Mexican.

for the record i'm an american thats a hatton fan, and i know a few more that are hatton fans, and to think i'm racist is the biggest crap...i voted and worked on the ***** campaign where i live.....amir kahn is over blown...and him going up to 140 would be a disaster...oh and i would take mayweather, sr. over freddie roach anyday....remember roach was the guy who trained de la hoya against floyd, jr. we all saw how that went and the scorecards should have been ud for floyd

over a period of time a fighters resolve from taking a punch diminishes.. prime example is graham earl vs michael katsidis! earl took a pounding for 6 rounds of constant knock out punches from a top puncher in katsidis yet was standing all night!!! yet the fight later he was out for the count against khan then out for the count against henry castle in under a minute of each fight.. same applies to hatton!- yes he took top blows from kosta but this is what they mean when they say the wars in boxing take it out of you as il say it again he was rocking from juan lazcano (FACT!!)... his punch resistance is OBVIOUSLY going and this is usually a sign to retire for most boxers. as everyone in the uk wanted him too after that fight but since beating mallignaggi he has been reborn lol..the difference between us is im not buying hype! im going by what i see and not what i read, yes hatton is one of the best fighters the uk has ever produced and was a brilliant fighter but now is just a good fighter!! you need to be more then good to beat manny, do you understand where i am coming from? im from the uk and would love to say hatton is a god of boxing but i wont just because we are the same i will say what i clearly see..no ignorance involved as you keep mentioning!
