I have always enjoyed Teddy Atlas because he has always been one of those colorful characters that I believe makes boxing unique. With that being said. NEWS FLASH TO MR. ATLAS. I, as well as anyone else that has heard you speak in the last decade understand that you think Vitali quit in his fight with Byrd. I mean color commentary is one thing but he is bordering on being obsessed with it and If I hear him say it one more time I really believe I will throw up on myself. I think Teddy must lay awake at night thinking about how Vitali quit and for some reason he takes it personnel. Who knows? Maybe he got his butt whooped by some Ukrainian kid while growing up on Staten Island and has never been able to put it behind him. And I have an idea. Teddy always does those analogies before the FNF. You have all seen them like when they were out in the fishing boat. Maybe in one of those analogies someone could tear Teddy's rotator cuff so we can all see how many rounds he can fight in absolute pain and with one arm. And say what you will about the Klitschko brothers but at least they show up in shape and prepared to fight and you can't say that about many heavyweights of the last twenty five years. In closing I would like to point out that I always liked Teddy but even aside from Vitali many of his comments and sometimes the way he sees fights borders on the bizarre.

I agree with Jake here, especially considering that on the average Atlas commentates on fights of much less significance every week. This was a genuine world title fight.

Atlas had a point but his point started to interfere with the action in the fight. Sure, the division sucks, but he should have moved on to analysis after the sixth or seventh mention.

Good post and you are right. Teddy speaks out of his ass more than I do after over-eating on some bad Mexican food.

with that much height, reach and power, the klits should be KOing mofos and look spectacular in doing it.

I guess I'm the only one that doesn't understand why Atlas should be sugar coating everything. If the division sucks, it sucks, tell it like it is. I think the idea that Atlas has it out for the brothers is a little weak. I didn't notice him bashing Vitali at all. I still want quotes backing that theory.

I watched the fight this morning, and i did not think the fight was particularly boring. It was not a barn burner, but i dont think it was boring. I think Vitali looked his age, but by the same token, he was fighting a Southpaws and, he took time to adjust.

Atlas was overly critical imo. Good job BK was there to set the record straight.

No one is dis*****g the divison sucks. However you can only beat what is put infront of you, and Vitali should get credit for that imo. Atlas does not need to keep reiterating the point, because we already know all this. Its just makes him sound like a bitter/hater.

Although it was a good article, it's totally unnecessary. I mean, he's a damn commentator, which requires some sort of input. The heavyweight division is as ****ty as everyone is describing it, only Teddy's the one to mention it because he's got the whole world tuning in.
