This again?
I already explained to you that this is WINGSPAN that is measured from finger tip to finger tip. It is therefore inaccurate since in includes finger length and chest width. As I also pointed out your reach is more effective when when your taller than your opponent even if the reach is the same. This is because your punching down which gives you more leverage and it causes less fatigue on your arms.
Paul Williams? Did they fight Paul Williams or are you just trying to make a veiled point about black fighters and reach?
I find your insecurity and paranoia to be kind of funny.Comment

thank you jake! thanks for making a good serious fact based article out of the same thing i have been saying for years!!!!
up yours atlas! he is such an a**hole. it was like watching kellerman call a jones jr fight. both have such huge bias one way or another. i dont understand why atlas has to always point out the worst he can think of on the air while he is supposed to be a pro commentator and try to be unbiased.
and how kellerman would come to rjj's protection if he called a jones jr fight. us fans dont mind a bit of color, but we dont want to be pissed off that the commentator is being bitter or completely in love with the fighter either.
add kellerman to the klitschko hater group btw.
anyways, great piece bro! would love to see more non-BS straight shooting articles and reports.Comment

great article. Espn should fire atlas and bring in someone like bob papa or max kellerman. Atlas is horrible. Espn picked this fight up for a reason and that was not for Klitschko to get bashed by atlas, all atlas is good for is wednesday and friday night low profile fights, they should have brought in someone else for this.Last edited by Leo Pradun; 03-23-2009, 09:58 PM.Comment

One fight later... any consistency between the two broadcasts?
Didn't think so.
So everyone please spare me then "Teddy is right, heavyweight division is ****" rhetoric. Last week's hate-fueled rant had nothing to do with his thoughts on the division as a whole, but specifically the Klitschkos.
Last night's call didn't come with anywhere near the level of disdain for the heavyweights, even though we were forced to watch a painfully ugly fight between two fighters better suited for a wet t-shirt contest.
The closest Teddy came to matching last week's call was asking Chambers why he didn't do more during the fight (and to his credit, Chambers was honest and receptive to the question rather than taking the defensive).Comment

LOL @ Kellerman on espn! He was already fired from espn and fox! I have no idea why hbo recycled Kellerman. The guy sucks and he is a joke...Comment

By Jake Donovan - You’ve been there thousands of times. You’re in the comfort of your own home watching a fight, but reach a point when you wonder why what you see and what you hear aren’t quite one and the same. [details]
...Best article I have seen on here in quite some time. Aside from the injury stoppages, and even including them to a point, Vitali has been the most dominant heavyweight ever when you break down what he's done. Never behind on a scorecard after the 2nd round, dismantling people who were considered a threat to him, never been dropped or really even hurt badly in a fight, and the highest KO percentage in the history of the division. What more is the guy supposed to do? I still maintain that none of the champs of the past would have been able to deal with him. He's a tough, skilled, iron chinned giant with a nasty streak. I would bet on him in any prime for prime fight with any heavyweight who ever lived. The only way this guy loses to any of them is a freak injury stoppage.Comment

I watched the fight with German commentary on RTL. I couldn't tell what they were saying but it sounds a lot better than this moron. It's annoying enough when commentators let their blind love for a fighter affect their commentary, this is even more incompetent.Comment

I will try my hardest to make that happen next weekend - ESPN2 is live in Memphis, and I will be ringside for the fight.Comment
