I think the article is good. Atlas has been systmatically biased in his commentaries.

Also, Teddy Atlas picked many oponents (Sam Peter, Thompson) of Wlad and Vitaliy to beat them. Thus, he has been systematically biased in his predictions too.

The bottom line is that he hates K2 brothers, and this gets in the way of reporting.

Come on, can't you take a joke?

But the difference is that Memphis will get that chance to validate themselves against great competition. Vitali doesn't really have that oppurtunity, which is what Atlas is saying.

That's where Kenny was going toward the end of the broadcast, and Teddy could barely form a complete sentence without almost apologetically acknowledging that it's a very short list of worthy foes remaining.
I still don't see how he was taking shots directly at Vitali outside of the Chris Byrd thing you were talking about, which I don't remember.

So the moment he does, I expect Teddy to be all up in his **** about it the same way he shot back at Kenny anytime the slightest bit of praise was thrown Vitali's way.
So you're okay with him acting this way as long as he's consistant. Okay. I expect an article about it either way. You're a good writer, this coming from a journalism graduate who did nothing but sports. Please don't be offended that I disagree with you. I know what you're saying, but I just didn't see it the same way as you. I also appreciate you coming on here and defending yourself. I've had beef with other writer's stories on here (not naming names) who haven't done the same.

He even predicted Rahman would defeat Wladimir.

When he said it, Tessitore went "Nooooo..." - his reaction was funny.

I most say I'm baffled by the way the US audience apparently was presented this fight. Vitali might have looked a bit rusty and out of timing in round one but after that he completely dominated a difficult opponent who repeatedly was allowed to charge with his head. That consistent butting was never cautioned by the ref.

I thought Vitali gave a very good performance and he would present a clear and present danger for any champion of the past especially if he was in his prime.

I cannot understand Atlas' reasoning for bashing Vitali. Maybe he doesn't like his style which is an opinion he is entitled to but it's a subjective opinion nevertheless. Bottomline is that Vitali and Wlad dominates all opponents. What can you ask more? It's not their fault that the level of contenders below them are less than stellar.

It's never personal and I'd be a hypocrite if I was offended anytime someone disagreed with me (not to mention that the boards would be pretty damn boring if we all agreed with one another 24/7).

And yes, I'm fine with Teddy so long as he's consistent in his disdain. If it's for the heavyweights as a whole, cool... although bitching about the division rather than discussing the action in front of him really takes away from the broadcast.

If he spent the entire fight bitching about the fight itself, then it's just another day in the office and he in fact did his job. That's the point people are overlooking. Some say the fight ****** - and that's fine (I happen to disagree, but a fight's entertainment value obviously varies from one viewer to the next), but I got the sense that it could've been the heavyweight version of Vazquez-Marquez and Teddy would've still been every bit as dismissive of Vitali.

They DO brutally knock out their opponents.

                      This again?

I already explained to you that this is WINGSPAN that is measured from finger tip to finger tip. It is therefore inaccurate since in includes finger length and chest width. As I also pointed out your reach is more effective when when your taller than your opponent even if the reach is the same. This is because your punching down which gives you more leverage and it causes less fatigue on your arms.

Paul Williams? Did they fight Paul Williams or are you just trying to make a veiled point about black fighters and reach?
