People still forget that boxers back then fought with smaller gloves, and the money they earned was not enough so they had to fight 2-3 times a month and trained their asses off.

All i'm going to say is, nobody can beat Robinson at 147, not even Carlos Monzon, and if somebody indeed beat him RR would beat them even worse in a rematch, nobody beat Robinson twice until he was in his late 30's.

read my post clearly man... i just said the present crop of fighters are more interesting. i never said they will thrash robinson... and watching sum boxer on youtube will certainly help u assess a fighter but no way it will make u conclude he is the greatest ever.

      im not dis*****g robinson's status...

whats with this grade schooler starting a thread asking for opinions from his fellow posters and when one gives something that contradicts his, he blows his top?

why bother starting a thread and not be tolerant of other's opinions?

        mosquito brained fellow...

Coming from a guy with a matrix av?? Yes, you are clearly gifted.

Flames of War summed it up perfectly.

Robinson, although not in some hyperbolic blowout like people on these boards love to claim.

              WTF?

Money Mayweather himself would pick Robinson. Anyone who thinks otherwise is stuck on ******.

so basing it from steward's interview and srr's and hearns' placing in any reputable atg lists, its difficult to see srr losing to pbf...

but IMO, the present crop of fighters are more interesting and i for one can relate with them better... leave the old skool fighters to the seniors and experts and enjoy the fighters we have right now...
I also believe Hearns would KO Gayweather, SRL TOO!

Robinson would destroy Mayweather at WW. No doubt about that. If Mayweather fought LaMotta at 160 LaMotta, win or lose, would absolutely batter him.

Robinson fought LaMotta, lost. Two weeks later he took a 'tune-up', won, and then the next week, 8 days later, he fought LaMotta AGAIN, and won. That's three fights in a month. Imagine a modern day boxer doing that. Not a chance.

Paul. And based on your metaphor, you think Mayweather beats Robinson. A better one-on-one would be Oscar Robinson vs Lebron, or Jordan vs Kobe.
