There's no doubt Floyd would win this head-to-head. Today's athletes are just so much better than the athletes of the past, in every sport. They're so much better conditioned and more athletic now. Since Floyd is the greatest of this era, that means he can beat anyone else from boxing history.

Just look at basketball clips from the 70s or 80s. Even the stars from back then couldn't jump as high or run as fast as benchwarmers from today. If a young Larry Bird time traveled to 2009, he wouldn't even be able to make an NBA team.

Lol at people doing Versus with the quality of their lives. You all lose, I'm a multi billionaire and I live on my own Island with a harrem of 50 women who all make Christina Millian look like a crack addict.
      __________

Bragging out of the way.................. I don't know who would win, I can't shake the idea that the training involved in boxing nowadays would give Floyd certain advantages. RR is naturally bigger than Floyd hits hard, normally this isn't a problem for Floyd as not many people are close to his actual boxing ability so they can rarely land flush but RR has the ability to catch him. I'm inclined to believe that RR would win by KO or Floyd would win by decision if he can rack up the points before getting caugh too much then get on his bicycle for the remainding rounds.

            That is crazy logic.

It doesnt work like that in Boxing, because styles more often than not dictate the outcome of fights. I can think of more than 1 fighter of yester year who id put money to beat Floyd Mayweather.

How about Sugar Ray Robinson vs Antonio Tarver at light heavyweight? Who takes it?

Useless thread SRR was the greatest of all times, and he had more speed than Mayweather, and the difference in power was astronomical not to mention the difference in opponents faced. SRR knocks Mayweather out.

theres another thread here @ nsb where emmanuel steward tells an interviewer in a video clip that hearns will put a hurting on pbf...

i have seen a lot of atg P4P lists and hearns is nowhere near srr in any of those lists. i havent seen enuf of srr myself and i dont feel im really qualified to assess his accomplishments...

so basing it from steward's interview and srr's and hearns' placing in any reputable atg lists, its difficult to see srr losing to pbf...

but IMO, the present crop of fighters are more interesting and i for one can relate with them better... leave the old skool fighters to the seniors and experts and enjoy the fighters we have right now...

That's the most ignorant **** I have ever read. The boxers today cannot hold a candle to guys like Sugar Ray Robinson. It's obvious you're a noob, because you don't even know Sugar Ray Robinson is the best boxer that ever lived P4P. So youtube him.
