It's impossible. They hate him BECAUSE of how great he is. And many of them hate him because of his skin color. Let's face it, racism is rampant in the boxing world. Floyd isn't going to stop being great and he can't change his skin color, so there's nothing he can to do make them respect him. He's already earned the respect, they just won't give it to him no matter what he does.

This is how i see the whole Mayweather thing.

People respect his skill. Some people however do not respect him despite of the skill due to lets say his less than stellar attitude.

I respect him as a very talented and skillful boxer but I find it incredibly difficult to respect on the whole as due to his manner he comes across as a complete arse.
