exactly. its like the other million comeback rumors that have come out in the last 2 years.

I've lost count on how many times I told my friend about mayweather's "rumored" comeback since he retired.

and its always the same pattern of stories: His manager says this, ppl saw him working out, he is losing money so he needs to fight. but every single story seems to have this in common: they all don't have any quotes from floyd himself even suggesting a comeback.

    sad.

He doesn't need Cotto's bull**** hand-me-down belt. Remember, Floyd had the REAL belt (WBC). Quite frankly.. Cotto doesn't deserve a shot at a Mega fight yet after that lil accident he suffered last year. He was headline PPV status but that KO loss puts him back in the regular HBO bracket IMO.
...let me see... yup. I knew it was the biggest Floyd nuthugger in the World! Damn guy, would you just for one minute stop sucking his ****? Floys is a great fighter but not at 147. Get that through your cum-filled head! If he is as great as you claim, how come he won't fight the best at WW? To be the best you have to beat the best. I don't think Floyd has done that yet. He wants Hatton because he's small at WW and Paquiao because it a big money fight. I hope he stays retired, boxing don't need him!

      • There is no way he fights Mosley. He (Mayweather) wants no piece of him.

        • "Money" has a chance against "Sugar"; he should take the bad option rather than the worst option. He will be minced by Cotto and be pulverized by "Pacman".

          • He will face the Pacquiao/Hatton winner if he comes back, no other fight will make him as much money.

No Mo Joe: BoxingScene Pound for Pound Top Ten
              By Cliff Rold

The announced retirement of Joe Calzaghe shakes up Boxing in a number of areas. It further opens up the Light Heavyweight race, making room for the ascendance of Chad Dawson or perhaps even a final epic run for Bernard Hopkins. Boxing history says Joe may not resist the call of the ring forever.

Time moves on in the meantime.

One part of time’s move is changes to the Boxing Scene Pound for Pound ratings.

              1) Manny Pacquiao (48-3-2, 36 KO’S)

              2) Bernard Hopkins (49-5-1, 32 KO)

              3) Juan Manuel Marquez (49-4-1, 36 KO)

              4) Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KO)

              5) Israel Vasquez (43-4, 31 KO)

              6) Ivan Calderon (32-0, 6 KO)

              7) Paul Williams (36-1, 27 KO)

              8) Rafael Marquez (37-5, 33 KO)

              9) Chad Dawson (27-0, 17 KO)

              10) Miguel Cotto (32-1, 26 KO)

              Age: 28

              Current Title: None

Career Titles: Alphabelt reigns at Jr. Welterweight & Welterweight

Last Five Opponents: Antonio Margarito, Alfonso Gomez, Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, Oktay Urkal

Next Opponent: February 21, 2009 vs. Michael Jennings (34-1, 26 KO)

A case could be made in the final spot for unified 115 lb. titlist Vic Darchinyan or the only man who has defeated him, 112 lb. beltholder Nonito Donaire. Both fall just short, Donaire because his body of work is too shallow and Darchinyan because the rematch with Donaire isn’t happening as of now. With dark clouds and questions hanging over the career of Antonio Margarito, the lone man to defeat Cotto, the Puerto Rican ultimately gets the call. Even with a bad defeat behind him, Cotto has amassed a remarkable body of work this decade, having faced eleven current or former major titlists since turning pro in 2001. Cotto has defeated ten of them and is the last man to defeat a Mosley newly established atop the Welterweight division. His lone loss must now be called to serious question in light of Margarito’s suspension for attempting to load his gloves, helping his cause here. Jennings isn’t much of a test, or at least shouldn’t be, but one can only assume Cotto will be back in the ring with the upper echelon sooner than later because it’s where he belongs.

Exiting the Ratings: Joe Calzaghe (Previously #2)

Five More Who Could Easily Be Here: Nonito Donaire, Mikkel Kessler, Fernando Montiel, Vic Darchinyan, Hozumi Hasegawa

Five More Who Could Be Here Shortly: Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Lopez, Chris John, Kelly Pavlik, Arthur Abraham

As always, feel free to agree…and disagree. This list is for entertainment purposes only and based purely on imagination, hypotheticals and conjecture just like every other pound for pound list ever written. Neither it nor any other such list made up of such illusory ingredients should be used to forward corporate agendas of any kind.

That doesn’t make it any less fun to argue about.

The top dog of P4P lists is The Ring list, all the other lists don't mean ****, and Cotto isn't on it.

                • Floyd loves the attention. I will believe it when I see it. Boxing has been better without him. He wont fight anyone but Pac or Cotto. Unless Ricky somehow destroys Pac in such a way that everyone wants to see him in a Floyd rematch (and if Rick did beat Pac, Im sure he would have to rematch Pac right away anyhow) nobody else besides Pac or Cotto will bring the money or name. Marquez isnt a big enough name and doesnt bring the money, and Floyd wont touch Mosely.

He got beat buy a bum! he squeaked by old sugar! and he his specialty is vacant belts! bottom line, he is not that great nor a threat to pbf! ask yourselves, if i wasnt pr would i still drool over low blow cotto? didn't think so! looks like he has his sights set on pacq!
I am so happy to see that someone actually watches and study fights & can see that Cotto is a HYPE JOB. Sure he has a good punch but so does Margarito WITH LESSER BOXING SKILL THAN COTTO & he took Cotto's punch & pressure from him & turn his limited skilled @$$ out! If Cotto was half the boxer his fans make him out to be then he would have humiliated Margarito because Margarito is so easy to read. All you have to do is neutralize his pressure and he was easy pickings and that's what Shane did. What bugs me out is that Cotto fought on the same card with Margarito prior to their match up and I'm wondering why didn't Cotto study Margarito in his fight with Cintron?

If he did he would have known that Margarito chin is durable after seeing the bombs Cintron landed on him & how Margarito just walked through them. The fact of the matter is that Cotto is just a puncher nothing more. If he wasn't smart enough to figure out & beat Margarito, then how can he beat Floyd? The fact of the matter is that Cotto only looks good against guys like Gomez & Jennings. Zab busted him up and had Cotto foul him. Mosley gave him the toughest fight he had in his whole career and then he looks great against a scrub & then gets beat down by the stronger 1 dimensional Margarito? I'm not pulling Cotto's card because I'm a Floyd fan but as a boxing fan after watching that Margarito fight, I can't see how people think this guy is a threat to Floyd? He wouldn't even be able to out think Money May.

                    • It going to be Marquez, why do u think Marquez called him out and Kellerman was like what makes u think Floyd will fight u. He is already setting up that fight. Then he fights Pacman and then Mosley Vs COtto winner. Retire Peace

For the record Pac man will give Floyd a hell of a fight.
