I think one of the problems the Klitschkos have in getting quality names on their resume is that they have been the champions for so long, that it has prevented anyone else getting a decent name of their own. There are no champions for them to fight because anyone else who had a belt theyve already beaten or is so old it wouldnt be a decent fight. The alternative to fighting these "no name" fighters is hauling Holyfield or Lewis out of the cobwebs and fighting them, of course this would just cause people to mock them for fighting washed up fighters. IT does go part of the way I guess to explaining Vitali's obsession with getting a rematch with Lewis. The last decent opponent left in the division retired before Vitali got the chance to try and beat him again.

A problem in the division is that the older heavyweights are often unwilling to fight the younger ones. Haye vs. Toney would raise Haye's profile, as would Dimitrenko vs. Ruiz or Arreola vs. Brewster.

The real problem is that the American sports media will not accept anyone named Klitschko as champion, and will continue being negative about (and usually ignoring) the heavyweight division until a black and preferably an American champion comes along.
Right, didn't think so. So spare me the "they're not American, we disapprove" rhetoric. It's simply untrue.
The heavyweight champion's race or nationality has nothing to do with it. Wladimir's reluctance to take a single risk in the ring once the bell rings is a huge issue. I honestly believe a lot of fans WANT Wlad to be the man at heavyweight. Many were vocal in their disapproval of Vitali coming back, for no other reason than the fact that it stood in the way of Wlad completely running the tables.
Outside the ring, Wlad is as likable as they come. The real problem is, when was the last time he was in a fight where anyone cared five minutes after it ended?
And all that aside, what does your rant even have to do with my article? I wasn't condemning either fighter. One way or another, a Klitschko will be at the top of the division, for the immediate future and most likely beyond. I never said it was a bad thing, just that it's a shame we'll never get a definitive answer as to who's better.
All we can ask for is for each brother to constantly outdo the other, a point I specified in closing out my column.

watch the Rahman fight.they speak several times about his SHORT training camp.castillo was an overmatched, blownup cruiserweight.he did nothing in his career.schulz was known for a close decision loss to a 47 year old.Brock beat mccline(his only decent win).who did Thompson beat? Timor ibragimov.wow! Vitali beat an out of shape Johnson.I'm Canadian & like Johnson.he was in an ugly trial vs the nova scotia police for being mistreated.large racial problems vs white & blacks there.he was not in shape but needed the money.donald is an alright win.he floats like a butterfly & stings like one too.sanders was 30lbs overweight & just wanted a payday.peter was a good win thou.none of these guys are household names.my grammer may suck but I make $100000/year as an Ironworker in Alberta building oil refineries & what do you do? Heavyweight fighters aren't supposed to fight that way. Unfortunately, thats just the way it is. I know the Klits aren't those kind of fighters so it will be like this until someone else arrives or their time is over.
When it comes to boxing, people just want to be entertained and excited. Thats why boxing fans are excited about the prospect of the Klits vs. Arreola and Haye. We know that in this fights, we WILL see the Klits actually have to work harder than what they have recently. How could you not want that?
I dissagree. Ali, Holmes and Lennox Lewis were technical and very methodical. They also happened to be from african descent though. I don't know if their popularity had to do with that, but one thing is for sure, they weren't sheer brutes that went into the ring mindless and only attempted to destroy their opponent with no plan B. Tyson did that and gained allot of respect, but he was also popular because he was a menace outside of the ring and brought allot of drama. The only reason the Klitschko's don't garner the respect they deserve is because they are not American and they are respectful outside the ring. If they would crank up the arrogance , claim they would 'whip' anybody and go in an American ring to handle business, the public would respect them. But this is not who the Klitschko's are. They are dedicated and educated family men . They are respectful to their opponents and are realistic. Unfortunately in this sport, at this time, this attitude is frowned on. It is what it is and it will not simply go away. The Klitschko's will just need to keep knocking guys out like Lennox Lewis did and eventually they will be respected worldwide. You don't have to be a fan to respect a guys dominance. It will come eventually, like it did for Lennox.

Allow me to enlighten you.
>Vitali took the fight on very short notice while Lennox had been training for a couple months.
>Nobody had been beating LL at the time a fight ended for either victor in a LL fight. The names are too numerous to list.
>Lennox had destroyed Iron Mike Tyson prior to this fight and looked unbeatable in doing so.
>Vitali actually landed more on Lewis and had him more beat up than he had ever been prior to this fight in 6 rounds.
>Vitali was winning the fight 4-2 on all the scorecards at the time of stoppage.
You cannot discredit these facts and expect to be taken seriously on here. I thought you would have realized this by now but you seem to be very thick.

Yes, I know Kellerman said "three" weeks, but the fight was signed at the end of October, that's over six weeks.
Learn to do you own research instead of listening to Kellerman. He's often wrong and has an anti-European bias. If you were intelligent, you'd take a look back through the boxingscene articles and discover the Rahman-Klitschko fight was made in late October!
I hate wasting my time with you, you're either a child or a mentally defective adult. You can't even write a proper sentence, and yet you go on about how the Klitschkos' university degrees are worthless.

Last time I remembered fights were 12 rounds not 6.so what he was winning after 6.look at his eye after 6.he LOST! Besides lewis was half retired & was the heaviest he ever was for a fight.maybe that training camp was a long party after his Tyson win.I love how easy it is getting under klitschko fans skin.it's like taking candy from a kid! LOL! Go put your klitschko sisters underwear on & face the facts that they are overrated.if you need a hug I'm sure john ruiz can help you with that.
