Mayweather did not want to fight Margarito because Mayweather does not do business with Bob Arum. He made much more money fighting Baldimir. Can't say I blame him.

What i dont get with Floyd fans like Larryx and Burner is they say or have said Mayweather beats Whitaker clearly or words to that effect, but i cant think of a fighter i would bring back from the past who could of given Floyd the kinda headaches that Whitaker could. That is not hate, its the way i feel. Whitaker would cause him major trouble imo.


If i was to make two fights between 4 great fighters where stylistically, i feel its bad a match up for 2 of the fighters involved. I would pick Hopkins over Hagler, and Whitaker over Mayweather. Dont get me wrong they are not foregone conclusions by any stretch, but id feel very comfortable putting money on Whitaker, and B Hop. I have no problem with people who think otherwise, but i cant accept clearly or schooling Whitaker that is just ridiculous, and downright nuthuggery.

One things for sure no way is Mayweather beating Whitaker easily or taking him to school. Floyd got outboxed for 4/5 rounds by Judah, and Judah whilst having skills is not on Whitaker's level.

Yes he was a fantastic body puncher.

The body punching did'nt seem as consistent later in his career as in the beginning, but that might just be me getting the wrong impression.

I always felt the way to beat Whitaker was to physically overmatch him in height,reach and strength.

I know Pernell was past it and I shouldn't judge him on it but I think his weakness was having the bigger guy outbox him...McGirt, Hurtado looked good on the outside, Pernell had alot of trouble trying to counter McGirft, Hurtado, DLH, Tito and had to resort to infighting...

Again, this is not a prime Whitaker but I believe Whitaker > Floyd toe to toe, although Mayweather is almost overall stronger, while Whitaker had the much stronger legs I believe and...

Mayweather > Whitaker on the outside...I'm just going with what I've seen.
