Chavez vs. Camacho was a clinic on cutting off the ring.

Jose Luis Castillo deserves a shout... he really knew how to shorten the distance between him and his opponent.

Yeah. But to me it's more Foreman-Ali. Foreman made the ultrafast Ali retreat to the ropes since George was so effective at cutting off the ring. Ali said that in his book.

Julio Cesar Chavez was a master at this. Dwight Muhammad Qawi was another fighter that was masterful at cutting off the ring (especially at light-heavyweight), and splitting his opponent's defense by keeping his lead foot between his target's feet.

Ah ****er you beat me to it! Also, as previously stated even Whitaker couldn't keep him off for the first couple rounds. Whitaker adapted and became pretty aggressive before going back to relying on movement.

Also, while I don't consider Cotto to be the best, he is very efficient. He doesn't waste movement walking you down, he'll just follow your movements perfectly. If you start bouncing to your sidestep he'll stay directly in front of you doing the same movement, and throw that body hook once you stop. He did this well against Michael Jennings (who?).

              Chavez or Tyson...

Tyson wouldn't let people breath, let alone run around.

Yeah true! I didn't pick that one though because Ali did lie on the ropes for another reason too, rather than it being all Foreman's work.
