I thought Barrera was shot before the fight but i still thought he would knock Kahn out. I dont hate Khan but i dont see why he decided to fight an old legend who isnt a natural lightweight in the first place. In my opinion he should be doing it the proper way and fighting Romanov for the European title then if he wins he deserves to be in line for a title shot. Taking nohting away from Khan i do believe that the cut on Barerras head was a big factor in what happened and i dont think khan could of fought they he was doing for the whole fight i think he would of hads to engage barrera at some time. Its not Amirs fault he got cut it was an accident but i think that was a big factor in the fight. Khan will prbably fight for a world title this year or the start of 2010 but i beleive he will be destroyed by the top lightweights of today.
What is all this hate fro Khan?

The vast majority of fellow Englishmen adore Khan for some reason (maybe it is because he got us a silver one time at the Olympics) but I am not a huge fan of him.
I don't like the fact that he says he constantly says he is the greatest fighter on the planet in his weight division. Aside from boxing, the fact that he seriously injured an elderly gentleman whilst speeding in his car did not endear me to him.
Anyway, why are we even talking about him in the same breath as Pacqiuao? Has he even won a world title yet? No.Comment

Does Khan get some hate from some people because of his ethnicity? Absolutely. Every boxer of every ethnic background gets some hate mainly / or in part because of his ethnicity, so why should Khan be any different?
However, it does seem like it's way more likely he's not liked by boxing fans because of the attention and rewards he's gotten at such a young age. Why did a very young Tyson get love while a young Khan gets hate? Well, Tyson was a heavyweight destroying opponents and that's always gonna carry a different aura than a flashy lightweight who has a questionable chin.
A lot of boxing fans can always name good fighters who should be more famous than they are. When a kid is an Olympic star, he's gonna have way more immediate opportunities than the dude who started boxing in a local gym at 15. Khan gets a lot of benefits because he's had wide-world exposure. But a lot of people resent that he gets endorsements, PPV money, mainstream attention, etc. because they feel he doesn't "deserve" it. They can point to another fighter that has earned that right for big paydays and fame, but isn't getting it. They resent fighters who appear to have it "easy."
To be fair, Khan really shouldn't even be compared to Naz. They don't fight alike and their personalities are different from what I can tell. Khan actually seems like an OK kid, but sometimes even that is enough for us fans to hate some goody-two shoes (just like hating a "bad guy" like Naz). And fighters' resumes are always under scrutiny. The thing is, future fights will prove whether or not Khan has deserved everything he's gotten so far.Comment

you're right bro. I think it boils down to jealousy. Nice win for your boy Matinez last night though well done to him, I'm not a big fan of Cook. Maybe Rocky can buy some new trunks now it seemed like his last night were covered in tape!I mean the guy choses a ATG veteran who have over 70 fights to redeem himself, against all the odds against him and he still came on top.
I mean common guys, he only have 17 fights, I know he have a suspect chin, but thats no reason to hate on him.
I mean his attitude is what we need in boxing, atleast he have the balls and the willingness to be great. He chose a fight that he didnt had to take, i mean it was almost a no win situation for him, and he still won the fight with not that much to gain and with a lot to lose.
Give the guy a chance!!!!!!!!!!Comment
