a rematch would be cool but every one knows barrera simply could not compete with kahn on any level!!!!

he landed a headbutt that did more damage to himself than kahn!!
he also landed literally 1 or 2 shots that had no effect on kahn!!!!
as naz`s wife aleasha elphinstone/HAMED is acousin of 2 of my best mates! we had a big party celabrating kahns emphatic victory!
im just sorry barrera got cut! coz it was heading for a spectacular stoppage/ko!
kahn looked amazing! defensive yet aggressive!! he stepped in with blurring combinations while stepping back out of range just as quick!
barrera just (despite his excuses)could not cope with kahn!!

for all the deluded haters who think it should have been ruled a no contest!!
lets have a rematch at the MGM!,however anyboby with 2 braincells knows that this "glass chinned british hype job" was simply far too much for barrera!!
so a rematch is unlikley & despite his excuses i didnt hear marco calling for a rematch!!!!!

amir rammed it down the throat of all his critics!
after seeing that, anyone who thinks barrera was "robbed" of a no-contest are just desparate, delusional haters!!!!!
    praise allah & north england!!!!

    REVENGE IS SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    1. Are you saying that Khan would have beaten the Barrera who beat Hamed
    2. No offence but its quite sad celebrating that Khan beat a washed up Barrera just because he outclassed Hamed

      jollystomper is sick, ignore him.

Obviously Khan is not ready yet for a fighter anywhere near the quality of a peak Barrera.

And it is very sad to see such disrespectful posts here about one of the greatest fighters of all time, who should have stayed retired. Like someone crowing when Berbick beat Ali.

But it was a good learning fight for Khan, and he has clearly improved dramatically since teaming up with Roach.

In maybe five fights time, if he continues to improve, he'll be ready for the elite Lightweights. He has world class talent, but was appallingly trained until Roach took him on, and appallingly matched as well, against fighters who couldn't test him.

Han looked good vs a one eyed, old fighter.the cut was nasty & from a HEADBUTT! It's funny how the doctor waited til what 40 seconds after the fight would be official so they could go to the scorecards.another great European bull**** decision.that's why Not too many guys want to fight in Europe because of that bull****.that cut happened in the 1st round it should have been stopped no later than the second.khan would be very ****** & so would his fans to take this as a great win because you know every American analyst & boxing expert will be all over this ridiculous hometown decision.what a joke! When khan steps up again he will get knocked out.I don't think khan is that ******.when he watches the tape even he will see that his performance wasn't that great.he fought a guy with 1 eye who wouldn't quit.anyone could hit him.khan is still untested I don't take this fight as a good win at all.it's just another ****** European decision to try and build the name of one of their own.that's alright REAL boxing fans can see this ******ity.

I don't like either guy but I like boxing & I wanted a good fight.this turned out to be another payperview not worth the $$$ I paid.first the golota vs Austin in china & now this...it's disappointing to have these ****** decisions, especially when I pay to watch it.again wait til it's official then stop it 30 seconds into the fifth, why didn't they stop it in the forth? We all know why.the british only hope of a champion.that's why.a no decision would drop his stock...sad! In any other country that fight don't get past the 3rd round on a no-decision.khan is still ann overhyped, glass chinned Brit!

Khan's fundamentals were hugely improved. He's not nearly ready for the elite yet, but you're the one getting things out of perspective.

It wasn't a head butt, it was an accidental clash of heads. And it was as unfortunate for Khan as it was for Barerra that it happened. This fight was never going to mean anything other than being a good learning fight for Khan, and it would have been a far better learning fight for him if it hadn't been for the cut.

You're wrong about the US boxing experts, they have it in perspective. See The Ring's coverage, for example, or Cliff Rold's. Like the more intelligent parts of the UK media, they see it as a good learning fight, they think Khan has world class potential, but they think he needs a lot more seasoning under Roach before he'll be ready for the elite of the division.

There would have been even more protests if the fight had been stopped in round 2. Maybe if it was a title fight it should have been, but as it wasn't a title fight, I don't think it's a big deal. Barrera would have lost a wide UD if it hadn't been for the cut. In any case, Barrera's corner could have pulled him out and chose not to.

The reason it was a good fight for Khan was not because he won, nor because of whom he beat, but simply because Khan showed far better fundamentals and discipline than in any of his previous fights - as I predicted he would. And even this shell of Barrera would have beaten the pre-Roach Khan.

I don't care headbutt, clash of heads.you get way to technical.I know nobody did it & you really do analyze things to much.I don't care what you say fights are still 12 rounds & it only went shy of five,if the cut didn't happen barrera could defend himself better & see the right coming.how many times barrera been 12 & how many times khan been 12? So your 12 round decision assumption is just an ASSUMPTION! No one knows unless they actually goes 12.you are probably one if those guys that said if vitalia & lewis went 12 vitalia would win because he was ahead after 6! LOL! I only predict heavyweight fights & I haven't been wrong yet! I don't make assumptions thou,I only give my opinion where as you make assumptions.I would like to know what hbo thinks of the decision.

They haven't covered it. The only serious US boxing writers who have covered it so far are the ones I linked to in my previous post.

It's hardly 'technical' to distinguish between an accident and a deliberate and dangerous breach of the rules.

There's another interesting Ring article here, by former boxing judge Chuck Giampa. On the issue of whether the fight should have been stopped earlier, he's non-committal while making clear that there's a case for it. He also makes it clear that he thinks Barrera should have had a good cut man and didn't. Don King is such a bastard.

As I've said in another thread, I think Khan should offer Barrera a rematch.
