Once again, lets get realistic here. Cortez was the ref for the Castillo fight. He let Hatton fight on the inside. Why? Because Castillo let Hatton work on the inside as well. Castillo didn't hold right away or create seperation. Castillo, if you watch the fight, also tried to fight the same way Hatton tried to on that fight. Neither hooked arms, they were throwing punches.

With Mayweather, both (obviously implying Mayweather, as well) hooked arms and Mayweather didn't let Hatton work inside. He used his elbows to create seperation and then pushed off. Legal or not. When a fighter does that, the ref is forced to seperate. You'll hear all refs say, work your way out or work while you're in there. Mayweather didn't allow work. When that happens, the ref is forced to seperate the fighters.

The point deduction was bull****, I will give you that. Nonetheless, if a guy is bent over the middle rope and you punch at the back of his head, you're putting that point in the referee's hands.

      precisely

Hatton was very hurt after the first knockdown and PBF was backing him up to the ropes which is why the ref stopped it to prevent further damage to Hatton. If the ref didnt stop it, PBF would have put him down again so how can anyone say it wasnt a legit stoppage.
yes disorientated by the ringpost, not a knockout punch

Either way Mayweather won and still would have won... he isn't on the same level as Mayweather, isn't of the same caliber as Mayweather... and is hit too easily. Well then we both agree on something, I think he is just biased towards Hatton because of his being British.
Yeah agreed. If Cortez had been fairer, I think Mayweather would have won a UD. Something like 116-112 maybe because Hatton was doing alright until the point deduction. He just does have the tools to beat Floyd though, regardless of how bad the ref was, he gets hit too easy, no lateral movement, doesn't use the jab enough. The list goes on and on!

Cortez didn't say 'work your way out'. Arms weren't always locked from Mayweather but still Cortez jumped in early without fail.
