You really can't compare the two, because you don't know the extent of the injury or the amount of pain.

Vitali showed he has lots heart in the Lewis fight.

he should have ****** it up for 2 more rounds.he was dominating Byrd & Byrd could barely reach or hurt him so take a few punches, get on your bike & win the fight & take whatever time you need off AFTER the fight.he quit! Abraham fought with broken jaw for 8 rounds & won, ruddock had his jaw broken in the 4th round as well vs Tyson in his PRIME & almost beat him.vitalia hurt his image for many years.his legacy spotlights are 2 LOSSES he quit vs Byrd & LOST to lewis but yet people claim he's the best.his only good win is vs a grossly overweight Sam peter.vitalia"the quitter"klitschko.

Lacy was probably in MORE pain than Vitali.

Floyd was probably in MORE pain than Vitali.

        One thing we do KNOW.

        They didn't QUIT.

yep, and some people have the nerve to question his heart.. torn rotator cuff aint no joke.. most boxers would quit or not even fight at all with that kind of injury going into the fight

yeah... its not like chris byrd was gonna knock him out. plus it was vitaly's hometown.

                  vitaly should've fought on.

If you've ever ****ed up your rotator cuff, I think you'd understand him stopping the fight. It can be very very painful depending how bad the tear is.

What's the point in continuing to fight if you're handi-capped practically?

Whats the point of losing your title when youre way ahead and the other guy cant hurt you? Plenty instances of fighters keeping on even in close fights, when way ahead its alot easier. PBF was under duress the whole fight against Castillo but ****** it up, thats being mentally strong.

If you quit in the 9th round like Vitali you might as well keep going, when you quit its not like the pain is going to magicially disappear, suck it up for 9 more minutes, keep your title and get help after the fight.
