When it comes down to it, there are two men in the ring going at it, and it is impossible to prove who would win unless they fight each other in their prime. On paper, things may look a certain way, but that's why they fight the fights. Last time I checked there have been a few upsets in boxing.
Mayweather is in a good position at #2 here, but it's about accomplishments within the division, not whether or not a bunch of fanboys think he would win the head-to-head against #1.
