I have been thinking about this since I watched teh fight and really have no issue with him stopping. He could have went on for a round or two and stopped before the 5th round started and got the same result. The ref could have started deducting points from Yordan at any point for holding he was pulling an "Akinwande", so if he could have easily won a decision if he got to the end of round 5 but what whould a win like that even mean.

It was a very akward and ugly fight though, there was going to be no real glory gained in the ring. Did anyone really want to watch 8 more rounds if it progressed the way it looked to be going, hell we should thank Guerrero for saving us from that terrible fight.

i am a guerrero fan... actually, i really would want to see him mix it up with linares and antillon sometime... but lets put it up this way,

barrios is less skilled but his courage always get the better of him... remember he was still pressing juarez despite that nasty cut on his kisser?

vitali klitschko suffered a severe cut against lewis but kept on pounding away anyway and was actually disappointed that the fight was stopped...

arce, jmm. pacquiao the same thing... you see. as a fan. i want my favorite fighters to show courage through adversity... not just showcase talents... thats why that move by guerrero reminded me of derrick gainer who also quit against jmm... it really sucks...

I like guerrero, I first saw him in the Honorio fight and been following his fights since. I am still a fan. That was a pretty bad cut in a bad place.

Fighting when you can't see out of one eye is a dumb business move.
I don't blame him at all.

There will be other paydays and chances.

I think he was smart to quit if he the cut interferred with doing his job.

Fighting seeing out of one eye is not fun. You get hit with all kinds of **** you never even planned and if he got upset it would just be another excuse.

The Mexican warrior bull**** is overrated. No one said a Mexican Warrior had to be ******. Some mexican warriors are smart and brave.

Guerrero has never given us anything before that indicated that he doesn't like to go to war.

I think it was a good move for him.
