guerraro probably didnt read the memo that HBO like blood-n-guts over undefeated fighters.
Are you ok, or not ok with Guerrero not continuing?

The cut was pretty bad but HONESTLY - i feel that Yordan caught him off guard. I dont think Guerrero was ready for that, seems like he was expecting some push over to get KOd in the first round.
I'm neither "OK" with it or outraged - I'm not really a fan of his but I'm sure the people who tuned in to see him were distraught.
I agree with every word of this. Well said Riz.Comment

Man, thank goodness I've never been in prison (only on visiting day), but I've seen enough movies and heard enough stories to know you can't show "weakness." And boxing is the same way. I can understand why people are jumping all over The Ghost for this.
To echo other people's sentiments, I think "disappointed" is the right word for how I feel about his performance. The good thing is that he can prove himself in future fights. I wanted to be a fan after seeing a couple of his past fights. I hope he does his best to erase this memory. I also hope that the ordeal that his family is going through doesn't affect him in the ring.
I'm giving Guerrero another chance.Comment

To be fair Williams cut was not directly above his eye were blood would easily flow down right into eye.
I was disappointed to see him have the fight stopped. However, I think it was a smart career move because his opponent was very game and that cut happened in the second round. If the fight was stopped in the 4th due to the cut or if it continued through 10 or 12 (whatever it was) he very well may have taken his first 'L'. Though in having the fight stopped he may have lost a little respect from fans.
EDIT: Correction, I didn't realize he already had a loss earlier in his career.Last edited by βetamax; 03-09-2009, 12:59 PM.Comment

I see your point. HBO has been talking the talking and walking the walk lately. I think HBO deserves props for sticking to their word.
But Guerrero is backed by Golden Boy, so he probably will get another chance.Comment

It wasn't THAT bad. You see as soon as they wiped the blood off it stopped bleeding. Yeah, it could have got worse, but he should have at least finished the round and let the corner work on it. The point is he was so close to home with a lot of his fans there and on HBO and in the end he didn't show heart. That's disappointing
