Beating a near 40 year old Jones and winning by split decision against a 40 something BHOP does not make him great along Ali.

Joe C(no disrespect to him) hasn't beaten anybody to make him along the lines of Ali or SRR.

Yes, but resume wise, it goes to Jones.

It's all about the money end of the day,

But if you look at career wise, it's Not about who you lose to, it's about who you win. Calzaghe is lacking any significant wins.

who has come close? valuev was like 49-0. he faced better competition than calzaghe or about the saem at the least. that should answer your question.

yea it is. records don't mean ****, it all depends on the competition you fight.
big deal lamar clark was 43-0 with 43 KO's, the highest KO streak in history and when he stepped up to face Ali he was destroyed in 3 rounds.
Valuev was 49-0, big waves were made in the news how he was going to be the first to break Marciano's record. Then he stepped up and lost.
If Calzaghe would have stepped up earlier and fought a fresher Jones/Hopkins he would be at the least 44-2, not quite as impressive a record.

it's easy to pad a record just ask this guy:
                    http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...5680&cat=boxer

                    I mean **** Ricardo Lopez retired at 51-0: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...0521&cat=boxer

                    Paul Spadafora 41-0: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...6517&cat=boxer

it's not all that uncommon when your record is padded.

Ali was the king of the heavyweights and Joe likewise is god of his realm, so that automatically puts him up there with the greats like SRR and Ali.

People hate but they cant fk with Joe, they can't fk with him because hes the best boxer to pair a lace of gloves in the last 40 years. Especially the armchair fat yank critics; they probably piss themselves when they hear the name Joe. lol

Hopkins has lost 5 times and got whooped by Joe Calzaghe himself, no way in hell is he greater.
No worries though because the record stil stands; 46-0-0.

                      Joe Calzaghe Pride of Wales
                      Muhammad Ali 56-5
                      Albert Sosnowski 44-2

according to your logic, Sosnowski is better than Muhammed Ali.

It doesn't matter what a fighter's record is, it's who you fought to obtain that record. I only view a record as a bunch of numbers, not as the value of a fighter.

Calzaghe's best win over a prime fighter is Kessler. It's pretty easy to obtain a record like that when you haven't fought anyone.
