Calzaghe vs. Adamek @ CW

Seriously, how ppl can watch Adamek against Dawson and then think he can beat someone with the chin, movement, angles and handspeed of Calzaghe is mind-boggling to me.

Someone explain to me how Adamek wins this. I don't care if they fight at 2000 pounds, this is a horrible, horrible matchup for Adamek.

its just weird pent up hate, no rationality to it, and some one even said he aint good enough, like him or not the ppl that say these thing are just so mad he didnt get beat they must no in the back of there minds there only kidding therselves with this rubbish

Adamek is a tough guy, he just doesn't have the skill to hang with Calzaghe I don't think. I see him doing something very similar to what Dawson did with the exception of getting dropped. Adamek would be walking forward all day, Calzaghe would be throwing those fast little flurries and giving him constant movement. Adamek is not stopping Calzaghe. Calzaghe's chin is too good and Adamek's power is more cumulative than one-punch in nature. Basically, I think Adamek has next to no chance. He can't stop him and he can't win a decision. Kind of makes it tough IMO.

I don't see that chin lasting @CW with the trend of his 1st rd Kds/age and Adamek k'd, tko every opponent since 2006.

that dont make sense though dose it because it made no diffrence if he was a bit flabby although i dont think he was at all and Calzaghe beat Hopkins although amazingly one of the judges must have left his glasses at home that day and actualy give it too Hopkins, Calzaghe dosent do any weights so he dosent have that ripped look but he dont have hardley any fat

True. No weights. Muscle doesn't help you win fights, in fact it often slows you down if you're carrying too much. He barely even does any sparring either. Much of his training time is spent running.

people are fickle if they think adamek would win

He is a good fighter, but as long as calzaghe had adequate time to make the weight he would win handily. People forget that moving up to lh was a natural progression for calzaghe as it was so hard to make sm anymore, so he didn't change anything in his preparations, but if he moved up to cruiser im sure he would build up to the weight and if he did...

This fight would look similar to kessler, calzaghe's jab is way too fast, adamek would probably bring more pressure but that would play in to calzaghe's hands as he is very underrated on the inside and is always better against aggressive fighters. This is a one-sided fight imo calzaghe is better anywhere in the ring

I think you're under rating his chin, to be honest. He got knocked down, sure, but he got up. I don't think either Hopkins or Jones hurt him, they merely woke him up, especially Jones. If he was hurt he would have been cautious, but he was exactly the opposite, fighting the rest of the fight much of the time with no guard at all. That is not the sign of a man who has been hurt. That's a sign of a guy saying "**** you! You didn't hurt me enough to keep me down. I'm taking whatever you can give and winning the fight while still giving you a chance to hit me."

I don't believe any light heavy can keep him on the deck. In my opinion I don't see a cruiser KOing him either. They would need more than one punch. A sustained attack maybe, but then again when does Joe just stand there and allow himself to be hit by multiple shots?

You are severely overrating Adamek. This is a man who got in two wars and nearly lost to Paul Briggs - a very tough but also very limited fighter.

You are also talking like Calzaghe has a shaky chin. Getting knocked down early in fights doesn't mean you have a bad chin. Trinidad had/has a great chin and he used to get knocked down against feather-fists early in his fights.

Calzaghe has a tremendous chin. I am sure he would be able to take flush shots from Adamek, even at Cruiser. However, I am not sure Adamek would land them.

I am a Dawson fan dude, you know that. Hell, I don't even like Calzaghe, not one bit, but I'm not going to delude myself into thinking Chad can look like a ***n god against Adamek and Joe would go and get knocked out by him.

Adamek just ain't THAT good, and Joe, even though I don't enjoy admitting it, is great.

Calzaghe takes this. Easily.
