He is definately on the p4p list for the Calzaghe nuthuggers.

No offence intended FRKO, just the way it is son.

        Thanks.

No, I like Joe Calzaghe, I think he was an excellent fighter with a unique and interesting style. I am not a nuthugger like some people on the forums because I acknowledge the fact that he had flaws, and nuthuggers don't do this, they think he can do no wrong. For starters, he could have done more in his prime years, such as get his lazy ass over to America and prove his talent. In some ways, he wasted that chance He should have gotten rid of Warren long ago, too.

I think he fell into a trap of being made comfortable in the UK because he was earning good money fighting less-than-stellar opponents. I understand this to a certan extent, because first and foremost, boxing is a business. On the other hand there comes a time when you have to step outside the comfort zone and start pushing through, even if it means cutting your money and taking some chances. Joe didn't do this as much as he should, but in terms of talent, I can't knock him. Very good fighter indeed.

I actually find it amusing, so no worries, D. What I try to do is put across arguments using facts. I can't stand haters of any fighter, if you hadn't noticed? Some people don't like that I confront their posts with facts, therefore they occasionally call me a nuthugger because it's the easy way out. Label him a nuthugger and keep life simple! I was called a Pac nuthugger the other day, too. That's because one guy completely misread my post.

There are some fighters I dislike, but you would never be able to call me a hater. I refuse to sink to that level. I don't call fighters "bums", it's too disrespectful. I have fairly strong views when it comes to disrespecting boxers in general, and most of the time I've been supportive of even the bad ones. There are some who piss me off a little bit, like how Hatton is doing right now because he constantly talks about "the pound for pound title" as though beating Pac will boost him to the top of the list, but that's pretty much as far as it goes.

In a nutshell, nuthuggers and haters are no different. I get along better with people who have a balanced view rather than being extreme in one direction or the other. Call me a nuthugger for posting a rational argument if it makes you happy.

It's fine with me, D. Some of the coolest people on the board are totally nuts about their fighter and support him until they die. And that's OK.

Larryx = total Floyd nut but a very good dude. I like reed, a total Jones nuthugger (I mean it in the nicest possible way), although I don't think he likes me at all. Also, you happen to be one of my favorite posters because you come across as a straight-up BS-free person. Like not being a fan of Calzaghe but not talking out of your ass on topics like this one.

So yes, I agree with you, they can be good for the sport, although some are most definitely not. There are a few people here who are just way too extreme.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I do my absolute best to keep it real despite my personal feelings on fighters. Otherwise, what the *** is the point of even posting here?

Agree with you. There's nothing to hide, any of us could walk away from this board and never have to think about it again, so it seems pointless not being honest.

Props D. Keep doing your thing.

I haven't seen much of Adamek but I really wasn't impressed in his fight with Banks who gave him a close fight prior to the stoppage, who I also wasn't impressed with in the least after seeing some youtube clips prior to the fight. I'm downloading the Dawson and Cunningham fights as we speak so I'll hold off total judgment until then but right now I saw Calzaghe takes him.
