I think Marquez has a good chance against Floyd. Marquez is as patient as Floyd when it comes to counter punching waiting for the other guy to lead. Floyd starts to take the lead against Marquez he will be hit with counter punches.

Floyd was laughed at for fighting Baldomir! Then ended up crying in the press conference. The bigger fight was absolutely Margarito and nearly everyone preferred that over Baldomir. Geezus, give it a few years before we start pretending Baldomir was everyone's choice.

Baldomir was certainly not everyone's choice, but he did hold the lineal belt as well as most of the baubles, so fighting him was legit IMO - but should have been immediately followed with a unification against Margarito.

Also a surprising number of his peers at the time thought the Boldomir fight would close or even a pick 'em fight - see here.

Its true.....outside of DLH whom was past his best himself, Marquez would be one of the best fighters on Floyd's resume. Marquez is probably in his prime now.

I think Marquez is a better fighter than Castillo,Corrales and DLH at the age he was when Floyd fought him.
