  • Mayweather vs. Marquez: Juan Seriously After Floyd

WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez, and manager/trainer Nacho Berestain have spoken out in the Mexican press about their position on fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. After Marquez stopped Juan Diaz last Saturday in Texas, he called for a fight with Mayweather, who is technically retired and inactive since December 2007. I have a feeling this fight is about to become reality. Catchweight of 143 is good.

Marquez has a chance because of Floyds inactivity, but he won't win.

LOL, who else would expect 1 million PPV buys in a fight w/ Marquez besides De La Hoya?

This just proves that Mayweather is the biggest PPV star minus De La Hoya even after over a year of inactivity.

Floyd will have to drop his price too much. Hell have to settle for 5 Mill max against, JMM.

If PBF comes back to fight JMM and the he fights Pacquiao and 2 Top WW it will be good for boxing and fans, but if he comes back for JMM and Hatton 2, ill call him the biggest ***** ever to laced them up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is he pursuing a loss so damn bad? He wants to prove himself so bad but he is gonna end up getting beat. Maybe not a KO but never the less, Floyd will make him look like a bum with his defense.

Floyd isn't just a boxer. He's also greatly into his health. So he is always working hard to be fit. Not much to work back into boxing if you ask me.

I don't wanna see Marquez get KO'd. I really don't want this fight to happen at all.

I'd rather see Floyd KO Pac.

Didn't Manny say he wanted to fight Marqeuz after Hatton? Why would Marquez be wanting to go for this fight? It's too hard. Mayweather is too big, too quick, and would still be too sharp. Marquez just don't have the defense he used to or the speed and he would take too many shots over the fight. Bad choice.

Let's just hope that Mayweather asks for too much money, which will no doubt happen. You know the reason he wants it though? He just wants to prove that he is willing to beat any fighter and that he is that much better than Pac, hence the reason he is going for this fight instead of Campbell or Hatton or something. He is showing that he will fight and try to beat the guy that already knocked out Pacquiao's next opponent, Hatton.

Oh, so harsh! You're going to make Floyd cry.
