it's going to be tough for Guzman to get big name opponents because of the weigh in issue from last year
It definitely set him back but he has a fight coming up against Yuri Romanov for the vacant IBF title. So assuming he wins he'll than have one of the belts at 135. He'll be in a better position to fight whoever else are the title holders when that happens (which is tough to say who that will be if Marquez goes to 140?). LOL, maybe Guzman will have to go to 140 too. Damn, it seems Guzman is forever a couple steps behind chasing marquez who is a step behind chasing pacquiao haha
Speaking of Guzman, when is his next fight going to be announced?!
Needs to get back into action.
He's fighting Yuri Romanov for the vacant IBF title, which obviously will put him back in a pretty good position to set future fights.
Not sure if a date or venue has been set yet. Although I don't think anything has been signed so I'm sure if some crazy chance in hell marquez wanted to fight guzman (lol) guzman would quickly take that fight instead, but that's dreaming.

Joan Guzman vs. Yuri Romanov; IBF Lightweight Title
By Rick Reeno
BoxingScene.com has been informed by a source in the IBF that a proposed fight between Joan Guzman (29-0, 17KOs) and Yuri Romanov (21-2, 14KOs) has been approved for the vacant lightweight title. Guzman and Romanov are the two highest-ranked "available" contenders to fight for the title. Guzman is ranked at number 7 and Romanov is sitting a number 9.
There is no date for the fight. The two sides have to begin negotiations to complete a deal and set a date. The title became vacant last Friday when Nate Campbell was unable to make weight for his fight with mandatory Ali Funeka.

I know man, everyones chasing Pac...as for Guzman moving up to 140, bad idea, I think 130-135 is where he'll stay, his power hasn't been moving with him
