I've been a boxing fan longer than an MMA fan but I appreciate MMA as well, I appreciate Combat Sports in general, you don't like it fine, but dumb comments like that are just a waste of space.

Technically, you really can't say much. Outside of Wigan, England doesn't have much of a grappling culture. Too reliant on boxing, kickboxing and muay thai.

            i love watching fights. period.

MMA fights are great because they give street fighters, wrestlers, and martial artists a stage to compete. Guys like GSP and Anderson Silva would be virtually uknown if it wasnt for the UFC. but as far as comparing martial artists and wrestlers to pro boxers is crazy. Im tired of MMA fans using the "octagon" against the ring. they have no confidence in their fighters stand up game, but insist on saying that MMA is superior, and that is my only gripe as a fan of both sports.

so i'll voice my opinion once again for the dummies. there are no MMA fighters that can stand in the RING with top boxers, but there are plenty of boxers that have a great chance in the octagon. but why would they want to when there is better competition and more money on boxing?

I couldnt care less. I just dont find it appealing. I actually feel uncomfortable watching it as well as bored.

Then don't watch it, nobody's forcing you to watch it. The fact you find it "uncomfortable", means you never seen much amatuer wrestling in your school not to mention you're looking too much into things.

I agree, they should never be compared but I don't rank either over the other. The fact some people try to make a war between both sports is just ******, they're just two different things. I'm also sick of people thinking MMA is a single style, it's a collection of styles, unfortunatly a collection that lacks Boxing fundamentals that would help MMA fighters a lot in terms of foot works and getting better prepared for a punch. If you try to learn everything at one go, you'll end up being a medicore MMA fighter at best, that's one of the reasons I'm against Kids MMA along with fact that it's a more dangerous activity for kids.

The level of technical, physical, and mental requirements is too vast for the boxer to manage.
No, a mma fighter with no pro boxing experience would not put up a decent fight at all. That's just nonsense. but you are right in saying a boxer wouldn't have a chance against a complete mma fighter.
