1. When you find out that your promoter (murad muhammad at the time) was taking in close to 50% of your entire cut, it’ll do something to your focus
2. When you face an ATG that’s still seething for redemption after closely losing to Marco, its pretty much a given that you’ll be facing a beast in there…
3. Let’s face it, lining up Morales as a first fight at 130 while you still carry a SFW frame isnt gonna help
4. Im not saying gloves make the most different but it also does something to a fighter’s focus when a routine is broken

And last but not least

5. Pacquiao was supposed to fight Marquez in February….he started training in late December…when negotiations broke down and Morales was slotted in, the fight got moved to March…he kept on training…and if you’ve seen his pace in training, its not inconceivable that he might have overtrained for that fight



And he lost by 115-113….its not like he got dominated and it took a total shift in Morales’ style to accomplish that

I disagree, he gets people to buy PPV, which is more importent then asses in seats.

Any fighter makes more money when they are matched up with big stars~, it is a pretty simple concept, it takes 2 to make a mega fight.

Of course you can. People carry weight in different ways. Besides, Floyd had shown he was able to deal with a top welter, while Ricky struggled in his only other outing there.

This is a fair point. But he could have also been questioning himself as how he could lose to Baldo, so how could he beat Mayweather. Im not saying thats the case, just throwing it out there.

I think Cotto should be mentioned in the mix as well... Mosley, Pac, or Cotto. I say 15m. Mosley's style would be boring against Floyds. Pac has a very entertaining style to watch has a chance of a knockout. Cotto could give a great challenge and could possibly bring out the slugfest in floyd. I say pay him....
