A win over a fellow titlist ranked in the top three pound for pound and undefeated in 45 fights or,

A win over a fellow titlist considered the best fighter in the game and the hottest in the sport as well as being undefeated in 40 fights.

Especially when the first was a controversial split decision, the second a shutout and the third a twelfth round KO.

    Good night.
The Winky Wright fight wasn't as close as people say IMO, I scored it 116-112 Hopkins. Winky also fought an excellent fight and had the style and frame to fight at a higher weight, he'd been fighting at MW for a few fights prior to the Hopkins fight and only jumped up 10lbs to fight him at a 170 catch-weight. Most fans agree that Hopkins beat Taylor in the rematch, alot think he won the first fight aswell but I scored that norrowly for Taylor even though Hopkins came on strong. Trinidad was a good win but Tito wasn't suited for MW. He still had good power though and that's why he destroyed Joppy, but he wasn't suited to MW.

Calzaghe beating Hopkins is a bigger scalp than anything Hopkins or Jones have done. And before some mindless buthugger brings up Ruiz, that was a great achievement, but not a great win. Ruiz was a Don King protected garbage fighter. Still impressive for a former MW to beat him though, definitely.

        Bird brain? LOL

Calzaghe was the favourite, I've never denied that. You said he was a red hot fav who was expected to win easily.

Calzaghe started out a clear favourite and then it narrowed down nearer the fight. It was basically a pick'em fight amongst fans and boxing webites/experts.

Go back and read the post, I laughed at you saying he was a "red hot favourite expected to win easily", not once did I say he wasn't favourite you idiot.

And James Toney was dead at the weight and advised not to fight against Jones by a doctor, Jones beat a name that night, just like Calzaghe beat a name in his final fight. Means **** all.

The fact that you compared a diminished Roy Jones to Toney says it all. James has always been struggling with weight, but I guess it only matters when Roy beats him.
