This BSrizpac clown doesn't have a clue what he's on about, saying Hopkins had no stamina in the Calzaghe fight is laughable. Anyone that's not bias and closed minded would have the brain to realise that Hopkins' gameplan from the start was to limit Joe's output by clinching. Clinching expends energy along with the pace Calzaghe set, styles make fights and Calzaghe was just a bad match-up for Bernard. That's why he looked like a different fighter against Pavlik. Hopkins' very own words going into the fight was that he's never felt better and he went through the most intense and indepth training regime of his career. He also said AFTER the fight that he didn't fade because of age, it was just his gameplan to keep Joe's workrate in check. He's no fool, if he opened up and looked like he did against Pavlik he would lose badly to Calzaghe, so he made it ugly and tied Joe up excessively. The fading is exadurated because he made a meal of that lowblow, it was obvious he took the rest because Joe was coming on strong and he broke his rhythm, the smart thing to do. Look at the compubox stats, Hopkins gradually threw more throughout the fight! That's not a sign of someone falling off the rails like this idiot has suggested. Hopkins has looked excellent since moving up from MW, he took Tarver to school and beat Winky who is impossible to look good against. He then lost to Calzaghe in a competitive fight and produced what he hails as his best win against Pavlik, alongside the Trinidad win. He won almost every minute of every round and looked like he could have went on for alot more rounds. It's easy to just write off as "43 yo Popkins" but the reality is he's the best American fighter at the minute, above Chad Dawson and rated #3 P4P in the world. The hate over Calzaghe's win is a joke, it's a better win than ANY single win Roy Jones or Hopkins have. And before you waste your time bringing up James Toney he was dead at the weight and advised not to fight by a doctor he was that badly drained.
Another thing, Hopkins is on record recently as saying he's proud to be fitter than the average 25yo, and that it's a credit to his genetics, lifestyle and commitment to the sport. People who write him off as on old man are not only discrediting Calzaghe, but also Hopkins. I suppose you clowns think you know more about Hopkins than he does himself though. LOLComment
