I think some of the middleweights stand a good chance based on size

I don't think thats the case really, since the Castillo fight he's adapted quite well to body punching pressure fighters like Hatton. I think he's worked on his game against pressure fighters like Castillo so that if he faces that style again he can win. Considering Castillo is the only guy that has come close to beating him people try to mimic what Castillo did, Mayweather may have covered those holes that led him to almost lose that night. So fighters may see a perceived weakness but really Floyd has grown alot stronger fighting those types of fighters.

Mayweather is a smart fight though, he does not throw the lead right out of the blue, he only throws it when you are off balance. Also when he misses he will hold.

#1 Vulnerable to a good jabber. He keeps his left hand low, across his body leaving himself open to a good jabber.
#2 Once he's been caught by a good few jabs, he brings his left up quite high and doesn't tuck his elbows in to his sides, therefore leaving him open to body pucnhes
#3 Looks very uncomfortable when fighters go to the body
#4 When he is setting up the lead right hand, he often "paws" with his jab a few times first, making it easier to anticipate the quick, lead right he throws

So what do some of you think are the ways to tag the elusive Floyd, while trying not to get too much by his quick, accurate punches?

          a 12 round Judah

A PBF-sixed Marvin Hagler, but slightly more effective in pressing the action is the perfect fighter to beat Mayweather IMO.

If you fight orthodox against Mayweather you might as well leave your right hand at home, that's saying a lot. On the other hand if your money punch is your left, he has shown that he can take that away with movement, stance... (Hatton, Oscar did not land a single meaningful left hook in 22 rounds)

So I say you better be a lefty. why do I mention Hagler in particular, besides the obvious skills, nice reach. Because he is a converted righty. His power is in the hand that we have seen land more often on Mayweather. Another thing is you better be comfortable fighting going forward and backwards (hence my remark on Hagler's issues with pressing the action). Because Mayweather can and will change what he can if he is losing the fight, he is going to try and make a change. Better be ready for that.

EDIT: you mentioned bodypunching in your initial post. I think if you want to beat ANY great fighter you need that. I don't think Mayweather seems to be particularly troubled by that.

The counter right is very difficult to slip, but I think the lead right is more easily slipped. He does telegraph the punch.

I agree completely. Mayweather is a lot more comfortable moving backwards then he is moving forward.

My way to beat him is to keep the fight in the center of the ring, with a good jab and make him come to you. The man does not like to throw the first punch, he lives off countering and tiring his opponent out.

Perfect! I've always thought he doesn't like coming forward. He just doesn't look at home when its up to him to throw the first punch
