    The Way to Beat Mayweather?

Okay, first off: this is not a hate thread! I rewatched the Oscar fight last night and the Judah fight today and it got me thinking about where Mayweather is vulnerable, and what would be the best gameplan to beat him. I've come up with the following so far:

#1 Vulnerable to a good jabber. He keeps his left hand low, across his body leaving himself open to a good jabber.
#2 Once he's been caught by a good few jabs, he brings his left up quite high and doesn't tuck his elbows in to his sides, therefore leaving him open to body pucnhes
#3 Looks very uncomfortable when fighters go to the body
#4 When he is setting up the lead right hand, he often "paws" with his jab a few times first, making it easier to anticipate the quick, lead right he throws

So what do some of you think are the ways to tag the elusive Floyd, while trying not to get too much by his quick, accurate punches?

You have to be super fast (Judah) and a 12-round pressure fighter with a good jab

    This fighter does not exist

Judah was the fastest on the planet but flamed out after 4 rounds
Hatton and Castillo are great pressure fighters but neither has a good jab
De La Hoya has a great jab but can't pressure for 12 rounds

if you combine all four of them, you can beat Floyd, but that simply doesn't exist

That sounds like a description of Thomas Hearns....

Hearns would have had a great shot no doubt about it, but we're talking about a guy fighting today

be a great welter (top 50 all time should enough) so that you have a size advantage.

or be a top 5 all time lightweight.

The problem is he relies on the lead right a lot, which I think he telegraphs. Watch him, he either paws with his left a few times, or he tenses his right arm just before he throws it.

I think a fighter with a good jab, who is a good body puncher and who can slip the lead right would have a good chance against him

I think to beat Mayweather you need a good jab, but you must also fight in flurrys and not stand infront of him sustaining the action, because then you giving him opportunity's to counter you.

Counter punchers like to punch inbetween your punches and, if you are still standing their after getting your shots off you WILL get the receipt back from them. That is why you must fight in flurrys and peck away, then get out.

Its a myth that the way to beat Mayweather is to put pressure on him.

I meant actual flaws in his defence, weaknesses that can be exploited. Every fighter has them.

If I think recently, what about Ike Quartey? Solid jab but works well as a pressure fighter. I don't reallt think theres anyone from 140-154 that can beat him most of them are two old or not good enough. Mosley, DLH, Forrest etc would all have good chances in there prime but now they would all lose. What if Winky Wright could make 154 again would you pick him?
