It depends on who you consider an all-time great or not.
I agree that he is one of the most skilled fighters there was but he could've done so much more in my opinion.
Manchine, you're on point like a Quartey jab. I had high, high hopes for Floyd, I thought he could be better than Jones, Toney, all of them. In spite of his Hall of Fame accomplishments he never quite fulfilled that potential and falls just short of ATG. I still hold out hope he'll return.
I'm a fan so i'm su****ious but in light of "you can't fight forever" and "no one wants to see a shot fighter fight" and considering Mayweather wasn't in his physical prime anymore (prime Mayweather would knock Hatton in 4, at 140) and in light of everyone and their mothers being an hofer nowadays, i think money needs to be distinguished from the rest of this generation. I agree he falls a little short of Ali or Robbinson but who doesn't? He's definitely an ATG for what he did at 135, 130 and even 147. No one has ever gone through an as good of a resume undefeated like he did. He was a 5 weight class champion fighting amongst the elite for most of his years. Every single fight he took with the exception of 2 was a championship bout. No tuneups for Mayweather no sir, he got all his body could handle and he was fighting in pain in his last few fights from back and hand injuries.

The five-weight class thing is a little overdone. They manufactured a belt at 154 for Oscar didn't they? Like they always do. And I don't remember him being the true champ at 140 either.
If Mayweather indeed is finished I rate him as a HOF'er also but he falls short of ATG status because he retired in his prime with dangerous challengers looming.
Look at the thread starter. Calzaghe is an ATG but no Mayweather.
Even if Mayweather did duck challengers how come he fought more prime fighters than Calzaghe and have a better resume.

Some truth from Dazed, at least some people can see his manufactured career.
