I read it, some interesting views. Though anyone who says that Joe's first forty opponents were "unknowns" is betraying their own ignorance.

I'm not suggesting that it was stellar comp, but to take one example.... Robin Reid was an Olympic medallist who had held two world titles. He might not have fought in Fat Yankland (and when he did he was shot) but it illustrates that these guys weren't exactly "nobodies".

Joe felt Dawson was not ready for him but Peter Manfredo was ready.

Lolfredo was HBO's choise not Calzaghe's He complained long and hard about it.

So there was no point fighting Benard Hopkins who he beat with a split decision but it was sensible to fight Sakio Bika.

So no need to fight Glencoffe Johnson but it was ok to fight Sakio Bika.

Johnson has a worse record at SMW than Bika, Calzaghe was injured for the Johnson fight and then johnson got an offer from RJJ, who would you have fought?

So Roy Jones was washed up in Joe's own words and still it was alright to fight a washed up fighter.It was also fine to say that was Joe's best performance ever and Joe had to quit on a high.SO his high was beating a washed up figher who had been knocked out so many times in the past few years.

RJJ was worth $10 million, wouldn't you fight a guy you thought was washed up and you could beat with ease for 410 million?

He beat 9 world champions (Eubank, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, Reid, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins, RJJ)

He made $15 million in his last year alone and I don't think he was exactly broke before that, Sky paid Warren and awful lot of money to have Calzaghe's fights, I don't think he's a pauper. Add in endorsements in Wales where he is as much a National hero as pacquiao, Winning Sports personality of the Year is worth at least £2 million in sponcerships
